CHAPTER FOUR: HISTORY

Slipping on my armored pads onto my shoulders and chest, Zana walked out into the off-limit zone. The place that we obviously weren't supposed to go in. Although Zana has higher authority, I couldn't help but wonder why she was going in there. With my boots partially on, I managed to hop right by the door. It was hard to hear past the soundproof wall, but I managed to hear bits and pieces from the crack in the door. "He isn't ready... he'll die trying... Crustello..." I suddenly stopped listening, my name! My last name! They were talking about me! I quickly put my ear to the crack again, "His parents... we couldn't... they're gone because of... we don't know... alive..." Wait did I just hear what I thought I heard? My parents had a remote chance of being alive and they didn't think to tell me? Oh you've got to be kidding. Suddenly, I heard chairs screeching and footsteps towards the door. Panicked, I nearly toppled over, I quickly ran out into the lobby, then I heard a door open, adults poured out from the hallway. Suddenly Zana walked by me, I couldn't help but give a little bit of a guilty look. I tried to quietly slip away, then suddenly I heard my last name.
"CRUSTELLO!" Zana's shrill voice sent shivers down my spine, my back straightened. I slowly turned around. "What did I just tell you to do?! Get the rest of your armor on!" Looking down at my unfastened armor and untied boots, I realized she didn't know, I gave out a sigh of relief and finished putting on my armor. TO BE CONTINUED
