(told in perspective of Brutus)

I fidgeted nervously in my seat. What if she forgot? What if she didn't really like him? What if she just left him here for the rest of the day? What if something happened to her? Mountains of questions piled into my thoughts, I was deeply concerned, I barely knew her, and I was already fretting about the tiniest things that went wrong, the single hairs out of place. I tapped my foot against the wooden floor boards, drumming my fingers on the table, watching the second hand on the clock move around, and around. Then, the door opened and in walked Cassandra. She had a casual shirt and sweatpants on, not usually the thing to wear to a first date, but I didn't care. She was still the most beautiful person I had ever seen. She spotted me and jogged over to my table.

"Sorry I couldn't make it here sooner. We decided to spend the night on the mountain and got a bit off schedule." She smiled and sat across me, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear, looking down.

"What can I get you fine couple this evening?" I looked at Cassandra and she shrugged.

"Would you give us a minute? We need to look over the menus." I gave the waitress an apologetic look and she nodded.

"Of course! Take all the time you need." She smiled and walked on to the next table.

"So... what to eat?" I looked at Cassandra who was deeply buried in her menu.

She looked up, "I'm pretty sure I'll just go with the salad." She smiled.

"Same for me." I put my hand over hers and we shared a smile.

"DECIDED YET?" The waitress popped up beside our table, and we both jumped.

With our hearts still pounding I told her, "A salad for each of us please." She smiled and started skipping away, I looked at Cass and gave her a shocked look and it seemed as if she shared it as well.We started to smile and began to lean in to the table, that's when out of nowhere...

"I FORGOT TO ASK! ANY DRESSING?" She gave a demented smile and I laughed awkwardly.

"No thaaaaaaanks." I pushed her away and she shrugged and skipped away.

"Phew, I thought she'd never leave." We both laughed.

"ANY DRINKS?" We both screamed and put our hands to our chests.

"What is the matter with you?!" Cassandra screamed. I hadn't expected such anger to come out of Cassandra's mouth. She stood up, fist clenched, angry look on her face. I stood up and gave her a "relax" look, I grabbed her hand and took it in mine. She relaxed a bit but she did still look quite angry.

"We'll take that to go." He smiled. The waitress gave a toothy grin while tilting her head to the side.

"SURE THING." She almost seemed like a ventriloquist, not moving her mouth, mumbling through her smile. Something was seriously off with this girl. She seemed new because I had been here plenty of times and I hadn't seen her once. Then a man walked out and threw his hands up.

"Ay caramba! Julie! This is your third mess up today..." the man gave me an apologetic look, "...los sientos senor y senora, my niece is a bit, how should I put this...energetic." He smiled and leaned towards me, "she needed a summer job." He rolled his eyes and then went back to smiling. He put his hand behind his niece's back and he pulled her into the kitchen. That's when we heard overwhelmingly loud insults thrown in Spanish. I took Cassandra by the hand and pulled her out of the restaurant.

"I'm sorry, this restaurant usually isn't anything like this." I put my hand on her shoulder and felt her heart beating at a fast pace. I gave her an apologetic smile. "How about I go get our salad and we have a nice picnic, right over there." I pointed towards a tree.

"I would love that." She smiled and gave me a kiss.

I blushed, "I'll be right back! Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone." She rolled her eyes and waved. I went inside to find a flustered Mr. Fernando, face red and out of breathe from yelling.

"Los sientos mi amigo. I wasn't myself back there. My niece can be a pain sometimes AY!" He handed me my salad. "On the house, for you and your lady! Hasta luego!"

"Chau chau." I had picked up a bit of Spanish from being in that restaurant and those insults were not pretty. I came out with a grin on my face, and I looked around for Cassandra. I couldn't find her anywhere. "CASSANDRA?" I yelled out into the distance I started getting worried. Then I told myself, she can handle herself. I started jogging around town, but I couldn't find her. Something told me in the pit of my stomach that something wasn't right.

THREE HOURS LATER
I had jogged around town about ten times now, checked every nook and cranny, and yet, I still hadn't found her. I was then standing in front of three people, hands in the air, "I need your help."
