chapter 24

I'm standing outside her gate... looking fly as hell... mini hugging black dress with my Nike sneakers and my handbag. Flashbacks of the last time I was standing here come back... we had our last kiss here 2 months ago and now I'm here again.

Voice: Zola!!

A voice startles me... I look up and see no one but I look down I see the cutest human being to ever set foot on this cruel earth.. Ronda's baby sister. I smile and bend down to her level and cup her beautiful face leaving a kiss on her cheeks

me: hey baby you're all grown up now! Come here

I say picking her up as I used to. She giggles and smiles and we walk inside the yard heading to the house

me: where's Ronda my love?

I ask Gail (the baby sister)

Gail: she's in her room

I nod and as we walk in the kitchen I put Gail down. I search in my bag for sweets and bend down to her level again.

Me: here baby... go play outside and eat your sweets I'll come and play with you okay?

She nods and runs out. I get up and exhale deeply and I walk down the passage to her room. Its open but I knock still. Shes standing by her bedroom window which radiates beautiful light inside. She turns around... hands inside the front pockets of her jeans.

Me: hi

I say taking a step inside

she walks toward me and my heart is racing... her eyes are locked with mine... she walks past me and closes the door, locking it. Oh she finally got a key for this door. I think to myself.

Ronda: hey

she says standing in front of me

Ronda: oh sorry come... make yourself at home

she says moving aside... I nod and walk towards the couch and sit. She takes a seat at the edge of her bed and faces me

Ronda: so how have you been?

Me: alive... taking each day as it comes

Ronda: cool cool cool

me: and you? How have you been... how was your birthday?

Ronda: great... I had a good time...

me: good... I'm glad

Ronda: except there was one thing missing though

me: what?

Ronda: you

I look up at her and run out of words. I blink a couple of times before I can attempt to talk to again

me: so I got you something

I say fidgeting in my bag

me: I didn't know what to get you but.. I... I hope you like this.

I continue. I take out a small gift bag from my hand bag and extend my arm to meet hers. She smiles and takes the gift bag with excitement glimmering on her eyes. She opens it and her smile gets even bigger... this... is what I love to see... her smiling... because of me. Its a beautiful view. She proceeds and takes out an envelope... the one with the letter I wrote to her

Ronda: please read it for me

she says handing me the letter. I take a deep breath in and out... I unfold it and begin to read. By the time I am finished... I'm a crying mess.

Ronda: come here

she says giving me her hand to hold... she sits me on her bed and turns to face me

Ronda: thank you for the birthday gift... you don't know how much I appreciate these stuff

I nod and look down. She lifts my chin up with her index finger, I lock my eyes with hers and she brings her face closer to mines... my breathing rate increases just like that. Our lips touch and she gives me the most passionate and loving kiss... I pull out

me: Ronda...

Ronda: shhhh let's just enjoy this moment

I nod and she kisses me again and this time I respond... her hands move all over my body touching all the right places.. Her hands go all the way under my dress and pulls it all the way up... I'm left with my undergarments... she unstraps my bra and removes it, throwing it across the room... she brings her face to my neck... kisses me all the way down to my belly.. Leaving hickeys... by this time I'm soaking wet down there... she continues going down and she spreads my legs open kissing on the inside of my thighs leaving more hickeys there. Now she is face to face with my entrance... she looks up at me as if looking for assurance... I look back at her and nod... next thing I knew... her face was buried in me... her tongue worked wonders on me... had me speaking in tongues...pulling her hair... pushing her head in... Were laying down on her bed naked under the fleece blanket... I turn to lay on my side and face her, putting my leg over hers

Me: uh... what about me and Alice?

Ronda: are you guys dating or something

me: I only did that to make you jealous

me: I'm sorry

Youve been kissing all these girls since we broke up... in fact... even before we broke up... so why does it matter to you if I do anything with anyone... in fact even before we broke up... you were suggesting a whole open relationship.

Ronda: jeez Zola I know! I know I flopped big time... but I love you. All these girls don't mean anything to me. Youre all I ever think about... I miss you... I miss us every day

me: sometimes love is not enough Ronda!

Ronda: Zo-

me: no! You say you love me but you can't even show it. You don't want to fight for me. You can't stay committed to me...and I am sick and tired of being a damnn SECRET RONDALIA!!! You can't give me anything I want but I have went above and beyond to make sure you're happy always!

I grab the fleece blanket and get off the bed angrily. I grab my clothes and head to the bathroom... I freshen up and wear my clothes... I realize I took her sweater with me so I decide to put it on. She won't fight me. I head back to her room and she's sitting beside her bed with her head balancing on her knees.

Me: I just came to say bye...

she quickly looks up and her eyes are puffy

Ronda: Zola...

I cut her off

me: happy belated birthday Rondalia

I turn on my heel and turn the door knob in attempt to leave

Ronda: I can be a better person for you Zola... I'll change for you!!

I turn around and look at her... she's up on her feet now. I sigh

me: I don't want you to change Ronda I-

Ronda: I'll tell Eva the truth

voice: what truth?

I turn around... my jaw drops on the floor.
