chapter 28- the end

2 months later

it was Alice's birthday... it had been 2 months since we last talked, I was still hurting but I just wanted to show up one last time, I guess maybe for closure even though she had told me that looking for closure was a silly thing to do, but guess what? I'm not the type that likes to listen.

I have to go I say to Billy and attempt to leave

Wait! she stops me. I turn around and face her

Do you love her? she asks. I press my eyelids together in frustration and take a deep breath in trying to adjust to this burning ache in my chest

I do. So much more than she will ever know I say and look at her direction once again, hurting myself more. She spots me and our eyes lock. Shit! Billy is still quiet, so I attempt to leave once again, I didnt want Alice to see me here.

Zola I stop walking, but I dont turn around.

Thank you she responds coldly and that just throws me off. So I look at the road behind me and look back at her I am thinking about leaving now

Enjoy your birth-she cuts me off and pulls me to her warm embrace and I had never felt so safer, so warm her arms will always feel like home to me. Her mom walks in furiously and scans around the room my eyes follow her, and I spot my dress on the floor beside me, I quickly shove it under the bed with my foot before she notices.

And then? Whys your room locked and whats all this noise you guys are making all about when your guests are outside? she asks half shouting

I –were playing a game ma Alice responds.

And then? she questions looking at my outfit

Oh umm –I I stutter

She –I spilled juice on her dress, and I told her to take it off and borrowed her my clothes so I can fix her dress for her Alice cuts me off and responds

Oh well dont stay in this room its rude to be in here while you should be outside with your guests her mom says and walks out. I let out a deep breath I didnt know I was holding in.

You, okay? Alice asks

No, my cookie is in pain lol I say smiling

Youll be okay dont worry she says chuckling. I just look at her blankly

Okay Im sorry, come she kisses my forehead and takes my hand into hers and we walk out of her room, back to the world and the day goes on.
