sierra prepared herself for the feelings she was about to feel. she was in her childhood bedroom, dressed in a black strappy bodycon dress, one that she hadn't worn since her dog died. it was her funeral dress, one that looks like a dress worn to a party but when it is on someone, you can tell they've experienced a loss.

her legs were lined with black tights, and her feet were dressed in ankle boots. she wore her hair in its natural style, with her bangs covering the tear stains on her eyes. she had only been in new york for less than a day now, but she already wanted to leave. there were too many memories there, and it was too much for her and casilda to handle.

casilda turned off the shower and emerged from the bathroom a few moments later in a towel. sierra quickly swallowed the 3 xans that sat in her palm before cas got out. she walked out from sierras bathroom and sat on the bed, sighing as she did so, sierra doing the same and sitting next to cas.

"we'll be okay, we leave tomorrow." casilda whispered as she and sierra layed on the bed next to each other, looking in each other's eyes and holding each other's hands.

cas got up to go get dressed, leaving sierra to sit by herself on the bed. she fidgeted with the promise ring that she, Claire, and her mother have matching ones. but then she remembered the necklace, and grabbed Brandon's from her nightstand. she pulled hers out from under her dress and matched up the necklaces.

the pendants were just stupid rainbow ones that they bought from claires the first time they hung out outside of school. they went to the mall to get things for a school project, but it ended up being more of a "date". Brandon was a popular kid, so when people asked him what the necklace went to, he lied and said his girlfriend. maybe he wasn't lying, he did really like sierra.

she pulled the chain a bit and snapped a pic, thankful for the long-chain allowing her to do so. sierra looped around the chain and set it on the bed, before zipping up her boots. soon cas came out and put her own shoes on, before they both grabbed their jackets and walked downstairs.

everyone was downstairs, everyone in the Milton family. and Lauren, Chris, mitty, and Clinton. they all came in support, except for Lauren. she came for support and because she was a close friend of Brandon. sierra and cas were holding hands as they walked to the group of people. sierras mom, Susan, kissed both sierra and casildas forehead lightly before walking back to her own husband.

they all got into the funeral cars and drove to the cemetery, sierra, cas, Chris, and Mitchel in one car right behind the hearse. sierra made herself sit in the seat where she couldn't see the hearse, she knew that if she saw it she'd break down crying.

Mitchel reached out to grab sierras hand, which she grabbed and pulled a fake smile. the Xanax was the only thing keeping her calm, it held her emotions down with a 2,000-pound weight.

sierra watched as the cars around them on the highway slowed down, the cop car pulling out into the middle of the intersection as the funeral cars made their way through. sierra saw a happy family, all on bikes, waiting at the crosswalk. they all looked really happy. there was the mom and dad, an older girl who looked to be about sierras age with her boyfriend, and a little girl. sierra wished to herself that that could be her, but alas, life has not worked that way for her.

Mitchel opened the door and waited for sierra to get out of the car as everyone else had, but she was struggling. panic and pain took her over like a different drug and she tried to move, but she couldn't. Mitchel looked at her with confusion, noticing her panicked face.

"it's alright, you're going to be fine" he reassured, leaning into the car just a bit. but that wasn't what sierra was seeing. what she was seeing, she wasn't sure. all she knew, is that her legs weren't moving and that she was terrified to keep moving. she shook her head lightly and scooted farther into the seats, shaking from fear. Mitchel sighed and put his arm out, gesturing for sierra to take it.
