song of the chap: i dont like darkness- chase atlantic

days after she came home, sierra sat in her bed, writing out lyrics next to mitchel, while both of them were high and drinking. even though they were not sober, they were definitley writing some good shit.

sierra had dug up the lyrics they worked on that one night they got high at mitchels and fell asleep on the couch, and they matched up perfectly with one of the instrementals they already had recorded. so, they kept working and working on the songs lyrics until they were 100% sure that they were perfect.

sierra had found it actually quite comforting to be writing the song, because on the inside she knew that she was making it about brandon. life had been tough for her ever since the school found out about the suicide on campus. and the dean was making it hell for sierra, cancelling classes and scheduling assemblys.

she was sure that the dean was only scheduling these assemblys on days she had class on purpose, since she hadnt showed up to any of the previous ones. they arent mandatory, why should she have to go?

to be honest sierra had been burying herself in her lyrics to get away from all the death talk. no one would leave her alone, only people who knew her personally. but people like her teachers and fans were constantly asking her if she was okay. and at first she found it sweet, but then the rest of her 300k fans kept asking her the same fucking thing. and she was tired of it. of course she wasnt okay, who would be?

but still, sierra was enjoying her time with her friends. it filled some of the void that brandon left open. and ever since that night at the club, sierra hadnt seen connor.

"sierra, you are a lyric genuis! this is great! the boys are gonna love this!" mitchel exclaimed as he sat behind sierra, his arms around her waist as she sat in between his legs and leaned against his chest. sierra was exaughsted, so she was practically falling asleep in his arms. he turned his head towards her and kept saying exciting things in her ear, kissing her cheek in the middle of his words.

she smiled weakly and looked back to him, admiring how happy he got after one word.

the song they had just finished was probably the hardest song to write, when she started it a month ago it was originally about her depression but now she had finished it it was clearly about brandon. when she was writing it on her own, sierra was sobbing so hard, trying to sing it while crying. when she invited mitchel to help her, she would cry a little but then stop because mitchel helped her to realize that life would go on.

sierra probably sings more in this song than any other song, she sings the second verse on her own, the last lines on her own, the 1st part of the 2nd on her own, and harmonized with mitchel the 2nd part of the 2nd chorus and bridge. she sang more than mitchel, which he didnt mind. he actually suggested it, because he loved sierras voice and knew that she was going to kill it. which upped her confidence, making her happy. though she was only a feature, she felt as if she was actually an established producer.

"alright, just told chris, rehearsal tomorrow after your 12 class," he smiled, tossing his phone on the bed next to them and returning to hugging sierra tightly.

"i am so tired," sierra groaned, closing her eyes and digging her head into mitchels chest.

"well here, go change and i'll clean up," mitty offered and sierra smiled, sitting up before grabbing a random shirt and sweats from her drawers. while she changed in the bathroom, mitty cleaned up and opened up the covers. sierra came back and she got in the bed, thinking mitty was going to stay.

"goodnight angel," he whispered before kissing her head and walking towards the door. sierra was a bit confused, secretly she wanted him to stay but didnt want to say anything. first, she had not talked to lauren and had no idea how she was feeling after her and mitchels break up, and second, she didnt want to impose. so, she let him leave. against her own wanting of course.
