With all the strength and boldness left in me, I gave a heavy sigh and walked right to the wall fully eager to climb it and get inside the house.
I stood on the bricks arranged beside the wall, and threw my hands wide over the wall, trying to move my whole body across.
The edges of the walls were sharp and made a cut on my elbow. I felt a twinge in my hand which made me shout in pain.
"A little help here! ....A little help here."
" Help" I yelped.
"Hey, hey, guys he needs help." Abu said in a falsetto, and they all run towards my direction.
My hands, which were firmly planted on the wall began to tremble. They held my legs, and kept moving it across the wall until my whole body was across it.
I could hear little voices of cheers and applauds from them, as I finally made it into the house, and I smiled subconsciously.
I ignored them and proceeded to find my way into the main rooms.
My heart seemed to freeze, then pound with every step I took.
The compound was filled with flowers, but scrub and tall weeds covered the yellow lawn, which clearly looked like it hadn't been trimmed in months.
The yellow colour of the lawns was because the lawns were full of dandelions.
The big garage was filled with two cars, and there was a swimming pool at the far end of the compound.
The house looked bigger and nicer watching from the inside-out.
I could feel my body temperature rising and my skin tingling, with every step I took. I walked quietly and followed the path I was shown by the so-called-expect of this House.
I never thought anyone could pride himself with something like that.
'This is where I had my first mission and I clearly remember every route', Like seriously who would want an accolade for stealing.
My heart was beating heavily even though I sensed no danger around. Beads of perspiration continued to form upon my brow.
I took slow and steady steps, as I walked towards the back door.
'Midnight memories, oh, oh, oh,oh,oh 'Anywhere we go, never say no 'Just do it, do it, do it, do it'
Midnight Memories song by One direction subconsciously started playing in my head.
"No...no...I'm not singing now." I shook my head and hushed it away.
How could my subconscious mind even suggest that I sing a song in a situation like this.
Maybe it's because it's midnight. A voice in my head said.
Or maybe you're not too focused on the mission at hand. Another strong voiced countered.
The second voice must definitely be right, I wasn't focused enough on the task even though my heart never stopped hammering against my chest.
Well even I couldn't sing, I definitely took the last lyrics as an advice. 'Just do it, do it, do it, do it'
I quietly followed the route to where I was shown and with my hand which was still sweating copiously, I opened the back door gently and sneaked into the main hall encountering no difficulty.
"The back door is mostly unlocked use that one." I could hear the words ringing in my head.
Maybe this mission isn't too difficult as I imagined. I thought.
