I found out days after I gave birth what JD had done to hurt me. He had informed everyone that I "falsely" accused him of murder. He told my parents, my old friends, people at his work. It spread like wildfire throughout Sherwood. Everyone started calling me a liar and harassing me when I went out. They didn't whisper nasty things about me, they said it loud to make sure that I heard them.

So I stopped going out after Grace came home. I dedicated everything I was to being a good mother. Despite my very obvious proficiency in child rearing, JD still was cruel. After he came home from work, he was sweet to me. When we finally put Grace down for the night, he'd either beat me or rape me. It all depended on if he'd still been in a good mood with me or if I had done something to piss him off. But just because he was in a good mood with me didn't mean that I wanted to have sex. I didn't.

I reached out to Betty, who very solemnly agreed to be my friend again when I admitted to her how bad the abuse had gotten. I told her everything about the murders. I called her every day and she was my only interaction with people outside of Grace, JD and my parents. She was the only one who would be my friend.

Heather McNamara and Heather Duke thought I was a crazy bitch for trying to make Heather Chandler, Kurt and Ram's "suicides" about me. They harass me daily as they've become nothing other than small town busy bodies looking to marry young. Betty reminded me often that they envied my relationship with JD and the fact that I had Grace. She said they longed to be loved like Grace loved me.

Martha, who had become incredibly close with McNamara and Duke, took their side on the matter. While she didn't harass me, because Martha wasn't that type of human being, she completely severed contact. Not that we had really talked in a while. JD purposely told my old friends that he had alienated me from about the murder accusations. He knew that no one would believe me because I'm "crazy."

JD telling my parents made them demand I enter therapy for my supposed schizophrenia. I refused because I knew that I couldn't tell a therapist the truth. Again, no one would believe me. This gave him the ability to be incredibly violent with me because he knew that the cops wouldn't do a damn thing to help me. That no one really would.

Around the time our daughter was ten months old, he came home in a particularly terrible mood. I greeted him as I always did and he responded with a punch in the face. Caught off guard, I yelped loudly. Grace started to shriek from her playpen behind us. He had never hit me in front of her. I tried to tell him this but he continued hitting me. I tried to run from him to our phone but he yanked me down by my hair. He stood over me. I crawled out from under him and continued to run. Eventually I made it to the phone and dialed 911 right as JD hit me over the head with something incredibly heavy. My ears started to ring and my eyes slid shut. The last thing I could hear, in the distance, was Grace crying.

When I woke up, I was not surprised to find myself in a hospital bed. I had assumed that JD had continued beating me when the cops arrived and was arrested. It wasn't until Betty sat up with a dark look on her face that I began to worry. "He almost killed you this time, Veronica." She said to me in an emotionless tone.

"Where's Gracie?" I asked her in a panicked voice.

"The police can't find her or her father." She answered solemnly. I gasped and started to cry. Betty notified a doctor that I had woken up.

I didn't say anything as the doctors informed me that on top of a broken nose and collarbone, I was seven weeks pregnant. I had also been raped by JD most likely more than once. I spent the past four days in a coma. How did this happen, you might ask? How did he beat me this bad, rape me and kidnap our daughter before disappearing into the night?

It took the police three hours to arrive because of the fact that I had been the one calling. I laughed internally at that. I could sue for that and get away from JD. I'd win in an instant. And if JD would commit attempted murder, Betty said he almost killed me, actual murder isn't a stretch. People would believe me again, this was my way out.

But first, the police needed to find my daughter. I also needed to take care of this other child. I can't be a single mother to two children. I asked for an abortion to be performed during my hospital stay. Four days or so passed and I was finally able to go home. Grace and JD were still missing.

I spent the following two weeks in a catatonic state as I sat on the couch, wrapped up in my comforter, and watched the news in my now empty home. Reports of Grace's abduction were constant. Every half hour or so, they'd run a picture of her face and share the number to contact if she's seen. They also share a picture of JD's face, I close my eyes when they do that.

My mother stopped by frequently to check on me, as did Betty. So I wasn't suspicious when I heard the click of the lock on the front door. It opened and suddenly, someone strode into the room loudly. I recognized the footsteps and turned my head to face JD. He licked his quirked lips and soon enough, he was holding a silver revolver against my head.

"Greetings and salutations, dear. Let's put an end to this, shall we?" He queried.

"Where's Grace?" I asked him angrily. He had stolen my ten month old baby and disappeared for three weeks. He shook his head shortly and while I feared the worse, he hit me in the temple with the butt of the gun.
