"So, you're telling me Riv was in something that isn't even completed yet?" Emily looked both furious and suspicious. "And Paige just left?"

"Chancellor Paige," Teresa corrected, bristling slightly beside Thomas.

Instead of the usual crowd, so many kids had simply given up on finding their friends, instead mourning their loss after the 'TO BE TERMINATED' stamps on the records of their lost friends. The only kids with hope and fight remained in the room.

Emily, Thomas, Teresa, Newt, Alby, Gally, Minho, Sonya, Harriet and Ria's twin brother, Diego, who was subject C2, who was regarding Thomas and Teresa with an anxious look, which could be clearly read as keep quiet about the Mazes.

"Yeah," Thomas said, looking at Emily. "She went to talk to Janson. I don't think she knows exactly what Janson's doing."

"Do you know how to get into this not built place yet?" Emily asked, twitching with anticipation and possible anger, and Teresa, Thomas and Diego just shook their heads.

"No," Diego said, looking a little unsettled and shifty, "We can't. Not yet. You guys don't even know where he came from when he fell into it."

"And he vanished," Thomas pointed out, "He was also like, soaked, as if he'd been swimming or something."

"I don't get it," Alby shook his head, "it doesn't make sense. Where in this place can you easily hide fifty kids? I don't understand how you can. Where would there be enough space? We've explored part after part of this place and I dunno how-"

"Uh..." Newt looked around the room, as if the answer was right in there. "I'm supposing that we keep exploring? We haven't looked at everything there is here."

"You might wanna look, Newt." Emily said quietly, her voice shaking with suppressed rage, "But I'd burn this place to the ground if that's what it takes to get my brother back. I'm sure Diego agrees."

Diego looked up at Emily, wary. "I dunno..."

"They have my brother!" Emily yelled, "They put him in this place none of you will fucking tell me about, and apparently he's meant to be sentenced to death! And you're all doing fucking nothing! I- I can't sleep, I can't stop, and I need to find him, he's all I've got left and I promised to protect him, and even those of you who have people in there that you love, you don't fucking care!"

"Emily, woah!" Sonya held up her hands and walked over to Emily, cautiously hugging her and saying, "It's gonna be okay, Emily. We'll find him. We're starting right now, we'll start looking, we'll start asking. It'll be okay."

Emily hugged her back, but muttered, "You all say that."

"Chancellor Janson!"

Janson turned around so quickly he almost gave himself whiplash. He was currently in the room that worked with the communications of the wristbands and with the camera's of the main room and all the recordings of every test.

Around sixty guards were in the room, monitoring and analysing the data and brain patterns.

He turned around at the words to see Ava Paige stood in the doorway, gleaming in the darkness of the doorway in her white lab coat, every hair slicked back firmly on her head.

The chatter and typing in the room stopped slowly, and Janson turned from his observation of some of the data of all of the kids brain patterns from the third task, and it was revealing some of the most useful killzone data patterns ever. Some different techniques ought to be used in the regular examining and testing that they were doing.
