Felix's POV

I sat on the sturdy tree branch and stared at the odd looking building. I never understood why humans cut down forests and built little square cubes to live in. The trees provided perfect shelter, and, when tended properly, would provide furniture, decoration, food, and anything else you may want.

"Prince, what shall we do?" General Chan asked quietly. I jumped slightly as his voice was closer than I expected it to be. It brought me out of my thoughts and back to the tough reality I was facing.

"We storm in. For now the top priority is saving the Princess. We do not know the strength Yoonjun possesses and before we can fight him we have to assess her condition. Our objective is rescue. Do not engage Yoonjun." I instructed firmly. My eyes were glued to the windows. I was looking for movement.

I wanted a sign that she was still alive.

"One by one, we're going to go down. Follow me." I murmured as I jumped from the tree. This situation was too urgent to wait and longer.

We approached the edge of the forest and I closed my eyes. I hadn't used my magic in many years and I wondered if I still knew how to do this. I gently put my hands out until I felt my fingers touch the icy edge of the evil boundary.

"What are you doing?" Chan asked as he watched me.

"Sh." I hissed. I needed to concentrate. I felt the power radiating through my body and the ice cold boundary began feeling volatile. Like it was fighting back against me. I growled loudly and forced it harder. I screwed up my face, and then it burst.

"Take cover!" Chan ordered loudly. He threw his thin cape over us both and shielded me protectively from the icy glass shards that rained down upon us.

The boundary curse was lifted. The evil energy from within the bubble began seeping into the forest and an ill wind whistled angrily through the treetops high above.

"Move!" I boomed loudly. It would only be a matter of seconds before Yoonjun unleashed hell on us. We had to make as much progress as we could.

We stormed into the garden. The French patio doors shattered and hundreds and hundreds of fear fairies descended upon us.

This was going to be a blood bath at the very best.

The cloudy night was illuminated as arrows began flying around us. They whizzed past my ears, narrowly missing me and grazing my hair.

"NO!" Yoonjun screamed from inside the house. I entered through the broken glass door, and nearly threw up. The putrid smell of rotting food, and evil potions was rampant in the house.  The stench was so vile it made me heave from the pits of my stomach.

How had the Princess survived in these conditions for so long?!

"YOU STUPID FUCKING ELF." Yoonjun screamed as he appeared in front of me. The creatures behind him snarled angrily.

"Hell hounds!" I yelled. I quickly drew my sword and took a step backwards. Their fangs were dripping with saliva and I knew they would love nothing more than to sink them into my soft flesh.

"PRINCE FELIX!" Chan appeared and stood next to me. We quickly stood back to back as the vicious creatures circled us and snapped their jaws.

"Chan, we have to save her!" I stated. Yoonjun laughed. I quickly sunk my sword into one of the hell hounds and I heard the sound of Chan taking care of the other one behind me.

"What's left of her you mean! Her power is all mine. There is nothing left." His cruel laughter filled the whole house.

"Chan don't engage him. Get back to the forest. I will bring the Princess." I instructed as Yoonjun retreated into the shadows of the house. I wasn't sure what game he was playing. But I wanted no part of it.

"Prince Felix! I can't simply leave you! What if there are other traps or-"

"Are you disobeying my command?" I demanded. He stopped and frowned. He bowed his head slightly as I glared at him.

"Be careful Prince. We will wait for you, just beyond the border." He disappeared into the night once more and I could hear him calling the soldiers off.

I raced through the house and quickly located the Princess.

She was in a sorry state. Her lifeless body caused me to gasp and I approached apprehensively.

"Princess?" I stroked some of her blood soaked hair from her bruised face and felt her pulse. It was barely there. Tears stung my eyes as I looked upon her. I couldn't believe anyone could be this cruel to such a pure kind being. Her skin was patchy with dried blood, and I barely recognised her.

If she was this weak...

"Jimin..." I breathed. I carefully bundled her into my arms and noticed a small puppy. He eyed me sadly. As though he was begging me to take him. I picked him up and placed him safely in my leather satchel. I walked slowly through the house. Tears were streaming from my eyes as the world slowed around me. My anger suddenly consumed me, and I was filled with a strong power that I had never felt before.

Chaos was erupting, but the foul creatures were no match for the wrath I sought. Fear Fairies fell as I shot bright sparks of healing light into their fragile bodies. Hell hounds fell to the sharp edges of my sword.

"Good luck Prince. I'll be waiting for your return." Yoonjun cackled from the shadows and I turned.

"I don't know why you're so cocky. If she dies, I will personally make sure you suffer the most loathsome existence of any creature on this planet. I will personally escort you to the depths of the underworld." I threatened dangerously. Testing me was not a good idea.

"Oh Prince, you flatter me. Will you protect me as well as you did the Princess?" He cackled again and i clenched my jaw shut tightly. If the Princess was not in my arms, he would already be dead.

"Don't you ever speak of her again. You will regret this mistake." My voice was calm. It was the polar opposite to the emotions that raged inside me.

"I cannot wait to see you soon Prince. I would hurry. Judging by her lack of heartbeat. I would say she has minutes to live." I quickly left. I didn't have time to get distracted.

I stepped into the garden and created a protective barrier of light around the Princess and I. The fear fairies wouldn't dare get close. It would kill them.

I mounted my brilliant white stead and held the Princess with one arm. Her head flopped into my chest and she lay completely lifeless in my arms. The cold angry wind whipped around us as we raced back to the clearing.

"Hold on y/n..." My voice shook as I spoke to her. "I'm going to save you. I promise. Please don't die. I need you. You're my light in this world." I couldn't help thinking back to the first time she had ridden my horse with me.

I had been tough on her, and she had whined the whole way back to Eldoria. The thought of never seeing her bright smile, or hearing her call me a dummy once more, was almost too much for me.

"You have to live, and so does Jimin. Please don't let him take you like he did my mother!" I begged.

I had to make sure the Princess lived.

At any cost.
