DANIELA CRUZ was sitting in Canonical Studies in her usual seat, next to her roommate Bru. She looked back and saw Tariq sitting behind her, in the seat next to Lauren. They exchanged smiles, before she turned back around.
"Machiavelli's The Prince is about inheritance. It's about taking over a kingdom that was once occupied by a great ruler and making it greater. It's about war, betrayal, alliances." Reynolds spoke.
"Now, the single most important lesson you will learn from The Prince, if you're going to strike out at an enemy, destroy them totally and all at once." Mr. Reynolds continued.
"And that's the perfect segue for our announcement. Professor Milgram, please." Oliver Simmons said, as he walked, with Professor Milgram.
"It's that time of year. The coveted Canonical Studies Fellowship program is now open for applications." Professor Milgram stated, making the class cheer in excitement.
"Whoo! That's what I'm talking bout!" Bru shouted, making Daniela laugh.
"The winning student will receive an all-expenses paid stay in Washington, D.C. for a prestigious internship." Professor Milgram informed.
"Don't your man Malcolm stay in D.C.?" Bru asked, looking back at Lauren. "Oop." Daniela chuckled. "Ha, you better shoot your shot, bitch!" Bru joked, causing Lauren shoot her a look. "Imagine that." Dani remarked, shaking her head.
"So, your man in D.C., huh? You gone apply?" Tariq asked. "Uh, I don't know." Lauren spoke, shrugging her shoulders. "Hm." Daniela smirked. "What are you smiling at?" Bru asked. "Nothing." Daniela answered, sarcastically.
"The internship counts for Stansfield credit upon the recipient the option for early graduation of three years instead of four. Quite remarkable. Very good. Class dismissed." Professor Milgram said.
"Who wants to leave college early?" Bru asked Dani and she shrugged.
"A lot of people. I'm definitely one of them." Daniela answered.
Daniela looked over and saw Lauren stand up from her chair. She mentally prepared herself, as she walked over to Professor Reynolds. Daniela stood up from her seat and walked over to Tariq, sitting in Lauren's chair.
Tariq instantly smiled at the sight of the beautiful curly haired girl.
"So, you applying for the fellowship?" Daniela asked, curiously. "Yeah, I am. What about you? Are you gonna?" Tariq asked. "Yeah, of course. The quicker I graduate college, the quicker I can go on with life." Daniela stated. "Facts." Tariq agreed.
