"What no." I say my voice squeaking a bit.
"What the fuck dude?" Will says.
"I don't have a date with her. We're just doing a homework assignment." I say.
"Yeah he's mine. Ya'll" Ash jokes grabbing my arms. Everyone looks away and I wiggle out of his reach and sit down to eat my lunch. The food isn't the best. But its edible. Ish

"So hows your first day going?" Aubrey asks.
"It's alright i guess." I reply.
"Who is she tell me the details." Amelia squeals.
"What the fucking hell do you mean?"
"Alright 'i guess' normally means theres someone if you know what i mean." Adam mumbles.
Amelia punches his arm "ow." He squeals. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if a five year old said that.
I laugh a little. Not gonna lie. He's super weak compared to Amelia.

"Anyway. I don't like anyone. Yet. And besides i don't need a girlfriend. Or boyfriend before Ash gets ideas."
"Damn." He says. We laugh a bit and talk about random shit. And before you know it its last lesson.

"Alright whose in my class now?" I ask as the bell goes.
"Uhh. Adam max and Aubrey. I think." will says.
"Yeah science. Top set." Max says monotonously. First time he's really spoke. He is way too quiet.
"Cool." I reply.

...
We make our way to science. We have it with a teacher called mrs Taylor. Apparently shes super nice. But maybe not to me. I mean i have to get my rep back somehow. The smart but popular one.

Half way through lesson just after miss set us off on a task (luckily we get to sit where we want) someone walks over to me. I can't tell who they are at first.

"Hi." She says.
I look up. Its Vic. I didn't even know she was in my class! Shes like silent. I never realised her different but beautiful coloured eyes. And her orange hair, like fire; fierce but cute on her.

"Hey." I say getting on with my work and zoning back onto reality. And FYI i am NOT a swat i just don't want my father nagging me, plus i didn't want to talk.
"I was wondering if we could make the homework thing a bit earlier. I have a uhh" she pauses for a moment, "meeting. Yeah. Its been rescheduled to later today and tomorrow. If you want i can meet you another time."
"Its cool. Today's fine." I say. And just like that shes gone.

"What was that about?" Adam asks.
"By the look of things she either asked him out, broke up with him both of which are improbable so probably rescheduled." Max says.
"Yeah. She rescheduled the homework thing to earlier. As in right after science. But how'd you know?" I say.
"I know a lot. Like how the principle is..." i shake my head. I didn't need them to know. "Divorced." Max finishes. I mean he's not wrong.

"Wow. How do you get this info. Whose his ex, i need to send her a card saying well done." Adam says.
"Whatever dude." I say turning around again. Max and adam sat behind me, Aubrey next to me.
"Losers." Aubrey says. "Answers to question 15."
"Uhh. The equation thingy for spring constant. I cant be arsed to remember." I say.
"The bloody what?" Adam says.
"Spring constant. Didn't you learn it?"
"No."
"Get a textbook." But max had already gotten one.
"He's right." Max says surprised. He got a little offended but. I beat the nerd.

Lesson ended quickly after. And adam and Aubrey suddenly became busy in her dorm. I was walking to mine when i got stopped as i entered the elevator. "Hey." Max says.
"Hi."
"Why didn't you want me to tell them about your father?" He asks.
"I uhh. Don't want a bad rep because of who my abandoning dad is."
"Oh ok." He says now understanding. "So why'd you come here?"

I too a deep breath before answering "My mom decided she didn't want me in her new perfect life with her fiancé."
"Ok. Guess i don't have it the worst here. I was brought here after my parents died. 6 years ago." Theres a moment of silence.

Then the doors open and Vic is stood there. Max quickly makes his way to his dorm to meet Will, Ash and Amelia they're playing a new video game or something.

And I'm here in an elevator staring at vic who only stares back.
