"Hi." I say almost disappointed. She stands there for a while before impulsively start striping. Me being so kind. I look away. But then she taps me on the shoulder and i look around. I don't wanna look because if i did i wouldn't say "ειρήνη"
"Jake? Is that you? Can you hear me?" She asks. I cant tell if its a joke or not. "Im sorry ill get my clothes on then Scotland."
It takes me a minute to register. "Wait why Scotland?" I ask.
"Theres a sanctuary. They can help me. Help us. We just need to go ASAP. We can say bye to your friends and your dad but we have to go." She explains.
"Wait what about your immortality thingy?"
"Couple hundred hears and you think i dont know how to make my own batch?" She jokes. Well at least theres something to smile about. Seeing her happy makes me happy. Like im on air. Nothing matters if shes ok."
I send a quick message to my friends telling them to meet me in ten minutes my dorm. So i have ten minutes to pack. Me and Vic run back to our dorms and start packing immediately. Unfortunately a few of my great friends are ten minutes early so i have to pack around them telling them to wait so i can explain. Its gonna kill them. If not them. Me.
... Ive finally packed a few clothes some toothpaste and a few other essentials leaving electronics behind. Also a few snacks in a separate bad. Then Vic finally gets to my dorm with only one bag.
"Can someone please explain." Amelia says sat next to her new boyfriend that Will doesn't approve of. Its actually quite funny, Amelia wants to date him more because it annoys Will.
"Yeah whats going on?" Ash asks.
"They're leaving. Doesn't take a genius to notice." Max says. I block their gifts for a moment so they cant use them against me. I can see them getting angry at me. Well i know how this goes down.
"Yeah. Me and Vic are leaving. Wanna know why?" i start. "So we dont have to run from this stupid book. Here have a look. I had the spell removed since my powers enable me to somehow." I throw them the book. "Read it and understand. And if you do read it. Please start a revelation against the school. You'll understand why." I say.
"Wait are you on about the testing, attacks, deaths, or army training." Vic asks.
"Way to ruin the surprise." Ash says acting disappointed.
Adam is sat expressionless Aubrey holding his hand. "Im sorry it has to be this way. Ill try to stay in touch but. We have to go. Its been an honour. Wait. That sounds shitty. Its been great knowing you. A privilege to be your friends. Unfortunately i didn't meet a vampire." I say before leaving. I turn around quickly so they cant see my tears. Vic grabs my hand to comfort me like i did her.
And i leave. My second life. I leave my dorm with my bags with vic hearing the crying in the background as i give them their powers back. I leave the school running making sure we dont get caught vic still holding my hand. Our bags weighing us down but not stopping us. We leave the grounds passing the old sign that needs repairing. We leave behind our past looking to the future. With the girl i love. There'll be plenty of time to tell her.
But for now. We run.
