Remnant, Vale, Beacon Academy

It was another beautiful day in the city of Vale. Up in the clouds there was a massive ship that was taking new students towards Beacon Academy so they can be trained as Huntsman and Huntresses for the next 4 years. After a meeting with Professor Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch the previous night, the four brothers had arrived at the front gates of Beacon for a discussion they have been anticipating with Ozpin since they arrived on Remnant.

Eric: "Well boys, here we are. Beacon Academy. I gotta say it looks a lot bigger in person."

Looking around, the brothers easily deduced that just the sheer size of Beacon Academy was enough to rival one of the larger medieval era castles of Europe.

Andrew: "It certainly is impressive, but the main tower is still not as big as the Empire State Building."

Brody: "Yeah but it's still impressive for a school. Well, we still got an hour to kill before we have to meet with Ozpin. You guys want to walk around the campus and get a better feel for the place?"

Noah simply smirked at the very obvious answer to that question.

Noah: "You didn't even have to ask."

After saying this, Noah followed by his brothers began walking around the grounds of Beacon.

Eric: "Man, it must take a fortune to keep this place spotless and beautiful

Eric: "Man, it must take a fortune to keep this place spotless and beautiful."

Noah: "And that's just to keep the place clean. That's not including all the food, dorm rooms, weapon maintenance. Where do you think they get all the money for this place?"

It was a good question. Beacon was no ordinary school after all, its sole purpose was to train and educate the next generation of Remnants' protectors. Thinking about it for a moment, Andrew came up with a theory.

Andrew: "Vale used to have a military during the Great War but we never saw it during the events of the series. I think that sometime after the war ended, Vale abolished the military for some reason. So I'm gonna guess that Beacon gets its funding from whatever money used to go to the military."

Brody: "Which only begs a second question. What dumbass thought it was a good idea to abolish the entire military?! All that's going to do is paint a target on your back! Why not reorganize it into a self-defense force?! Or at the very least have a couple of well-armed and trained militias to be ready in case of an emergency!"

Brody had brought up a good point. A nation abolishing their entire military, no matter the reason was a foolish idea. That's when the brothers realized that only one person could have done that. A certain someone who in a past life was the King of Vale during the Great War. The brothers all collectively groaned and shook their heads in disbelief.
