Jack froze in fear as he looked up to see a terrifying man staring down at him. It was the same person as on the skype call.
"You need to get out of this boy. It ain't none of your business hear me? If I catch you or any of those idiot friends of yours that I took snooping around you're all dead. I'm not a nice guy and I don't work for a very nice guy so don't go around thinkin' I'm just gonna let you off like that. If I had to I'd murder every last one of you interfering children if it means I got paid. Welcome to the real world mate. It ain't all about fairies and princesses anymore. Now back off before you have no chance to. This is your lucky warning before you suffer the consequences of your actions. Goodbye."
And just like that, he disappeared. He faded away. That made Jack think, whatever was happening was not as it seemed. How could this man sneak away like that? It was magic really but the thought of Jack believing in magic would sound silly to most. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the dark man leaving the school gates. It was now or never. Jack chose now.
Slowly and quietly, he crept outside of the school and onto the pavement. He just was the guy's black boots slip into a car and drive off it said 078 97475924 on the back of it and Jack took a note of it just before the car sped off leaving him on the road; depressed, lonely and helpless. Time to get home and call that number, he thought.
The walk home was the longest he had ever known and he had a mental breakdown halfway through. This was really happening. It was no longer a kiddy joke his friends had played on him. On how he wished he could sit upright in bed and find out none of this was happening and that this was all a dream. Sadly that was not going to happen. The truth was that this was all very much real and there was no escaping it. It was a fight or die situation and he had to fight even if it resulted in death. The last man standing. The war had begun.
