"OWWWWWWW," he screamed.
"Take that loser. You're so weak that even a feather could knock you to the ground."
Jack felt more pain than ever before. His face turned red partially of anger and partially because of the intense pain the ball had caused. If he thought that that was bad then he was in for a big shock at school that day.
Soon enough, Jack's face began to hurt a little bit less and he realised that the best thing that he could do was to get up and keep going. So what, it hurt a lot but he wasn't going to get any better just sitting in the corner of the playground feeling sorry for himself. Then again, if he stood up for himself he was in for the beating of a lifetime.
After throwing his thoughts back and forth around his head he decided that the best thing he could do was go to the toilet and stay there until the horrible game of pain ended. Luckily for him, the P.E teacher let him go even though it was the middle of the game.
As soon as he arrived, he quickly found a cubicle and shut the door. Then he pulled out his phone and started playing games. He knew it would be better for him to think about the mystery on his hands but he just didn't have the energy. At least for now he could enjoy himself before P.E ended and he had to go back to the treacherous classroom.
Try as he might, he couldn't take his mind off the strange phone call of yesterday and the latest news: the disappearance of Tommy. It all seemed too much for him to handle and today's occurrences did spark some more questions. Was Jack with Lola and Lily at the mysterious hideout that he had seen yesterday on the phone?
If this pattern of people going missing continued, who would be next? What if it was him? What if it was more than one person? What if it was . . .
"I know you're in their Jack," interrupted Josh." Come out, we won't hurt you. My friends and I just wanted to apologise for the rude and unthoughtful thing we did out on the pitch. We are ever so sorry."
Jack didn't say a word. Maybe he could get away with pretending to be someone else and just not talking. He knew for sure that they didn't want to just 'apologise' to him.
"Get out there or I'm breaking the door down!"
