"Stop it, Tommy. My brain is contorting into a million pieces and you think this is funny. Stop joking and tell me where Lola is. NOW!"
"I wouldn't try and do that Jack. Listen to me, I know you probably won't believe me now ( because you didn't believe me yesterday when you talked to me either ) but if you wait until the register you will see. Give me a chance to prove myself at the very least." Tommy replied, clearly aggravated.
"Alright then, see you in class, " Jack huffed before storming off.
The clock outside the school ticked. Jack's thought moved around his head to the beat of the steady noise. He felt dizzy, he felt faint. He was worried; what if Tommy wasn't joking around with him? A solitary tear dropped from his face and fell slowly to the floor. Why was this happening to him? The day before had started just like this. Everything was going to happen again. He was going to have to relive the nightmare that had happened the previous day. NO!
RIIIIIING. . . it was time for class, the time Jack had dreaded since what Tommy had said. Time to face the truth. Slowly, everyone he knew was disappearing and the only person who was noticing was Jack himself. He, surely, would soon be a victim. No, of course not, he was just worrying himself about Tommy's lame little prank. Everything was going to be fine, wasn't it? Yes, it would be. There was nothing to worry about.
Even so, walking up to those gates that morning felt like torture to Jack. No more torture than what was about to go on inside obviously. Nothing was worse than that!
Taking a seat in the class, he realised that he had got butterflies in his stomach. He wanted nothing more in the world than for Lily to come and sit next to him holding Lola's hand and to begin laughing and tell me that it was all just a big, fat joke. Of course, the truth was a lot harsher than that. Welcome to the real world. He wasn't in year one anymore; the world wasn't filled with princesses and unicorns, instead, it was filled with criminals and other bad people. Jack needed to wake up and face the truth. The world may have a pretty cover but it certainly wasn't a fairy tale.
The register was taken. A name was mentioned a year, at least that was what it felt like to Jack. Then, to his disappointment but not to his surprise, Lily wasn't mentioned. It was officially groundhog day. The day, however, was hardly getting started.
