Natasha POV:

"The kids are back," Sydney celebrates. They come running in, Theo to Wanda and Val to Y/N.

"Hi my gorgeous girl," Y/N greets the little girl, Val plants a small kiss on her cheek.

"Fallon this is Theo my son and that's Val, Y/Ns daughter," Sydney joked. It was true that Y/N adored Val, and their relationship was like mother and child. Whenever she fell and hurt herself, she would cry out for Y/N.

I looked over to Fallon who stared at y/n with melancholic eyes and they saddened with every word she said to Val. 'good job sweetheart' 'I brought ice cream for later,'

"So Fallon what do your parents do?" Wanda asked, disrupting her thoughts. she takes a long pause before answering.

"Oh uh... nothing glamorous, my mom works at a daycare and my dad is a maintenance worker at the community college."

"And what would you like to study?" Sydney adds.

"I really like politics, I think president Phoenix is doing an excellent job with the economic policy she's putting in place," She smiles and looks at Y/N, but that smile quickly disappears when she realizes that she was too preoccupied talking to Valentina.

Fallon though not very pleasant towards me, was very smart and articulate. I slightly nudge Y/N when I realize what little attention she's giving.

"of course, we'd like to think that we'd all get along but the truth is humans are selfish and at one point one will try to rise above at the expense of the others. It's what's the problem with communism," Fallon says in her conversation with Sydney. Y/N finally looks up and gives her an approving smile, she beams until Theo and Valentina get restless for the ice cream she promised and she excuses herself from the table.

"I should go, my friends and I are planning to go down to the lake," Fallon gets up and says goodbye to everyone.

"I'll walk you there," I offer, I knew something was wrong when she didn't offer a mean remark.

-----

"Aren't you going to call me a whore or something?" I say as we walk beside each other. She had been quiet the entire way, which was very out of character for her.

"I just don't feel well," she kicks a rock.

"Whys that?" She just shrugs her shoulders, "Was meeting Sydney not what you imagined?"

"She was the only person that actually listened to me, It was great," She gives me a fake smile.

"I was listening," I reassure her. "Whatever," She walks a bit ahead.

"What did you say your parents do again?"

"Why does it matter?"

"Because my fake family was similar," she stops dead in her tracks, "my mother was a school teacher and my dad repaired cars. We took vacations to Ohio to visit my grandparents but the truth was that neither of them ever cared enough about me to even keep me," I saw that her breathing got deeper. I slowly approach her as to not alarm her, I rest my hand on her shoulder when I hear her sniffle. She turns around quickly and gives me an unexpected hug.

"She kept coming back even after I pushed her away, she made me feel wanted," she sobs.

"Who?" I asked hugging her tighter, even though I already know the answer.

"I thought she really cared but she doesn't, It's just her job to be nice," she continues.

"Who?" I ask again softly.
