//Honestly, I never thought I would even attempt to write a reader insert story, let alone a Camilo fanfic. The reason being is that I stumbled across a Camiloxreader fic a few weeks ago and then more started showing up on my recommended. As I've previously stated, I do not own these characters and they all belong to Disney's Encanto. I also put a couple of musical references in the later chapters, so see if you can spot them ;)

Just a reminder that Camilo is 15 so there will be no intimate stuff in this story and 18+ people shouldn't interact. I'm going to depict Y/n wearing pants and shirts rather than dresses, but you can choose to think that Y/n is wearing whatever you want them to. Anyways, I've just started a new school year so updates will be a little wonky. there will be swearing and flirtatious themes mentioned in the book, as well as some violence and abuse. I will address them at the start of the chapter if there is any and you can feel free to stop reading. I know it'll be a journey and a half writing this story, but I hope you'll stick through it with me.

(edit) I forgot to mention earlier, but this won't really follow the same plot of the original story, I've got too many ideas for that to happen so sorry if you were looking forward to that//

A little background information before we start

Y/n had just turned 15 a few weeks ago, and lots of people always gave them compliments about how amazing they looked. Most were genuine and sincere, but some were just creepy and weird.

Y/n's Father, Alexandro L/n, was always there to protect them and keep them safe.

Y/n's Mother, Sofia L/n, helped Y/n calm down after a long day and they were very close to each other.

Y/n's Older Brother, Luis L/n, had already moved into a house with his wife and had a baby on the way.

Y/n and their parents lived in a small, one-story house close to the markets. They were all very happy and accepting but one rule that could never be broken was to go near the Madrigals. Y/n wasn't entirely sure why they couldn't go near the Madrigals, since their families were very close in the past, but they didn't want to make their parents disappointed.

Y/n had always tried their best to meet their parents expectations, they both wanted to make sure their child would grow up strong, smart and healthy. Y/n always managed to exceed their parent's expectations and impress everyone, even if they just wanted to be a normal teenager.

Y/n grew up around the Madrigals and knew everyone in the family. They were basically a second family to them. When their parents told them they couldn't hang out with the Madrigals, Y/n wasn't too keen on the idea. They listened anyway but never forgot anything about them.
