The letter

Y/n got up to get a drink when they noticed something in the floor. Being the curious little devil they are, they bent over to pick it up. They brought it over to the window and with the help of the moonlight shining through the window they realised it was a folded piece of paper.

Upon opening it, they read every word on it. As soon as they saw who had signed it, they froze. They thought a random person had taken an interest in them but this was different.

They folded the paper back up and put a pen on top of it to stop it from going anywhere. They went down stairs and walked into the kitchen. Dolores walked in with a tired expression.

"Sorry, I needed a drink." Y/n apologised, forgetting that Dolores slept in a sound proofed room.

"No, it's not that. I needed to go for a walk anyways. I'm assuming you didn't have the nightmare we all had?" She yawned. Y/n shook their head. "Well let's go back to bed.

Y/n nodded and walked back to Mirabel's room. They grabbed the note and woke Mirabel. She saw how urgent Y/n looked and brought them outside the door and closed it.

"What's wrong? Can't you sleep?" Mirabel fussed. Y/n just shook their head and handed her the note. She hesitantly opened it and took one final glance at Y/n before reading.

It was a little difficult because of how dark it was, and the fact that she didn't have time to grab her glasses, but her jaw dropped when she got to the end. She looked up at Y/n and they were both a little shocked. And then Camilo opened the door.

"What's up guys?" He asked sleepily. He saw how they looked and saw what Mirabel was holding. "Oh shit. I'm gonna get going."

He quickly walked to his room and disappeared behind his door. Mirabel and Y/n just kinda stood there. They didn't say anything. All they knew was that breakfast would be fun.

***Breakfast***

Y/n sat down at the table and Mirabel sat next to them. There was a knock at the door and Alma excused herself to answer it. She came back with Mariano and his mother. So that's why there are empty spots.

They sat down and everyone begin eating and chatting. Alma stood up, ready to make an announcement. The table immediately grew quiet.

"As we know, Dolores and Mariano are old enough to consider engagement. I have had a talk with Senora Guzman and we have decided that Mariano should propose to Dolores." Everyone started cheering and clapping and Dolores and Mariano wouldn't stop smiling.

"We have decided that tonight will be the night. I expect everyone to help around the house and make sure Casita is beautiful before this evening. La Familia Madrigal!"

"La Familia Madrigal!" Everyone cheered and slowly started packing up. All the grand children were slightly on edge for the rest of the morning and Y/n and Mirabel disappeared to Mirabel's room.
