-+-Y/n's POV-+-

After Camilo and I started dating things have been getting a lot better. Alma has finally accepted the fact that I will not be leaving any time soon because my dad went crazy and then went missing, and she even let me start calling her Abuela. I am truly thankful for that.

The rest of the family have also been really nice lately, and Pepa has dubbed me her un-official adopted child and has even started caring for me, as well as Julieta. I am extremely thankful for that.

Mirabel and I have spent much more time together over the past few weeks and she was the first person I told about Camilo and I. I cannot be any more thankful.

And Camilo. Oh, what to do with Camilo. What to say about Camilo. He's been really helpful in the healing process and helping me do everything. He's so gentle and considerate, and he knows when he's done too much, maybe a skill he should've learnt a few months ago, but we don't judge. Words cannot express how thankful I am foe him.

I can't believe that after all this pain and remorse I've felt has finally been repaid by this beautiful feeling of bliss. I can't believe it's all for me. I don't even know where it's all coming from, but I'm not complaining.

***Time skip - A week after they started dating***

Y/n woke up in the middle of the night and needed to get a drink of water. They climbed out of their bed in the nursery and accidently stepped on a creaky floorboard.

Mirabel stirred from her sleep and rubbed her eye sleepily. She saw it was just Y/n and fell back asleep. Y/n continued their journey down to the kitchen but stopped outside it when they heard voices inside.

They peered around the corner to see Alma and Bruno trying to be as discreet as possible, as if they didn't want to be heard.

Y/n knew eavesdropping was a horrible thing to do but they were too invested and tried to listen close. They turned their head so their right ear was closest to the doorway and waited.

"I know he isn't gone, he wouldn't give up that easily. I was friends with the guy my entire life! He loves his family but he isn't going to just drop it, the end. There has to be a method behind his act. I'm going to look for his tomorrow. Y/n will come with me." Bruno whispered, he didn't sound happy or sarcastic like he normally did, he sounded stoic.

"No. You will not go and y/n will not be coming with you. Too many bad things have happened, we just want something to go right and chasing after the one bad thing on our tails will through everything completely off. I will not rick losing you again." Alma was stern too, but she had a trickle of pain in her voice.

"Mama, I'll be fine. Y/n will be fine. Everything will be fine. I know where to look. Alejandro and I used to go to this cave in the side of one of the small mountain when we were little and he told me that was like his 'home-away-from-home' thing. I can look there." Bruno tried to protest, only to be shit down by Alma.

"I have already told you once and I don't expect to tell you again. You will not be looking for Alejandro and no one will leave the encanto. End of story." Alma put her hand up as she finished.

"But Mama, it's still on the ins-"

Bruno tried to get another word out but he was shunned by Alma's beading glare.

I'll do it, Bruno. I'll look for him and bring him down. I need to show you all what I can do. and what he can do too.
