Spiraling

A few hours later, the family was starting to set the table and Mirabel was looking after Y/n in her room. Y/n didn't want to go downstairs because Camilo might be there. The only reason they didn't want to see Camilo was because he turned into their dad. Anyone else would've been forgivable, but anything to do with that man was too far.

Mirabel physically dragged Y/n out of her room and down the stairs, grabbing the attention of every family member in the dining room, and Camilo apparently because he poked his head out of his door.

As he did, he made eye contact with Mirabel, who was fighting for her life, and she quickly alerted Y/n and gave her the okay to sprint to the kitchen. Y/n looked back as they ran down the stairs with Mirabel as made eye contact with Camilo.

They looked ahead and ran into another room, causing Camilo to close his door and put his back against the wall. He slid down it and sat on the floor. He hugged legs to his chest as he started to silently sob.

He felt like he wasn't meant to belong in the family. They were treating him like he was an alien, like no one could understand when he spoke.

He lifted his head and pushed his head against the wall, letting his sobs audible to anyone near him. He heard a quiet knock on the door. He dreaded who might be behind it, that's when the door opened.

"Oh Camilo.." He looked up to see his siblings, Dolores and Antonio, stand next to him.

"Are you okay?" His worried little brother spoke, causing Camilo to feel twice as bad. He didn't want Antonio to have to worry about things like this.

"Um, I'm not feeling well, y'know, a little sick. I think I'll try to sleep it off." He smiled, trying to play it off as nothing. It seemed to work with his brother, but Dolores was not buying it.

She pushed Antonio out the door and told him to go to the dinner table. She then sat next to Camilo on the floor and rested his head on her shoulder.

She sighed, "I know it's hard, everybody alienating you, but I believe Y/n is trying to forgive you. I heard them. They also got a vision from Tío Bruno as well. Except theirs was about forgiving you. Do you remember what yours was?"

"Mine?.. It was about Y/n not talking to me. They weren't letting me close to them and they kept walking away. The only good thing was we stood across from each other, and we just stared," Camilo wiped his tears with his palm.

"Come on, lets go have some dinner. I'm pretty sure Bruno said he'd have dinner at the table tonight. We'll be a family again." Dolores pulled him up from the floor and walked him down the stairs.

They were standing next to the dining room when Camilo let go of Dolores' hand. She turned to him and gave him a sympathetic look.

"Just them I'm sick. Please?"

"I'll tell them you said hi. And I'll bring you leftovers."

And with that, Camilo walked back to his room and sat on the middle of the floor. He didn't know who 'Camilo Madrigal' truly was. Every time he closed his eyes, it felt like the world was spiraling away from him.
