-+-Y/n's POV-+-

"So, Mirabel ran out the door with me and we found my mom in the middle of some trees and she was really beaten up and I'm pretty sure she got hit in the stomach or something cause her dress was bloody. She told me really inspirational stuff and then.. then..." They couldn't even finish their sentence without tears making a re-appearance on their face.

Camilo pulled his chair closer and rubbed circles on Y/n's back as they cried into their hands. They still couldn't get over the initial shock of seeing her gone.

"I couldn't do anything about it. I didn't do anything about it. I could've stopped the bleeding on her stomach or gotten Julieta. She might have lived if I wasn't so weak." Their voice trailed off at the end when they realised their mistakes. They were immediately pulled into another hug by the boy beside them.

"You did all you could, and even if you could've done something, there isn't anything we can do about it now. All we can do is make sure you and everyone else is safe and no one gets hurt." Camilo whispered.

"She told me to tell my kids in the future that she was great and that the times we had together were some of the best times of my life, and to think of her and smile, and she told me just how much she loved me. I miss her so much!" They cried into his shoulder as he tried to calm them down.

They spent the rest of that afternoon sitting in his room and talking about everything Y/n loved about their mother. Camilo knew they wouldn't get over it quickly, but he didn't want to see them suffer.

After some reminiscing and lots of crying, Y/n started getting really tired. Camilo offered for them to sleep in his bed but they insisted they weren't tired. They both sat up against the wall of his room when he got an idea.

"Hey, you wanna see something cool?" He suggested, nudging the almost asleep teen leaning up against him. They nodded and he looked up to the ceiling. The room around them started changing and it soon came to a stop.

Y/n looked around the room, observing their surroundings. It looked really similar to their own bedroom, except the bed had different covers and the walls were a different color.

Even though they'd never seen this mysterious room before, it felt somewhat familiar and nostalgic. Their eyelids felt heavy and eventually, fell asleep against Camilo's shoulder.
