Chapter 9: 'Controlled Mind'
[No POV]
"Tolken! Come and help me!" an old woman called.
"Coming Nana!" cried a small boy named Tolken. He ran down a spiralling staircase to a small brown room. "Is something wrong Nana?" he asked. He looked around four and was quite small.
"Can you go get me my 'Wolf Legends' book dear?" she asked. Her voice was silky soft and she had a nice smile on her face. Tolken gave her a nod as he ran off to obtain the book. During the time he was gone, Tolken's grandmother had sat down with a cup of coffee.
"Found it!" Tolken cried, running in with a large book. He jumped onto his nan's lap and held the book open.
"Today I'll tell you about the 'Controlled Mind'" she found a chapter which read:
'A 'Controlled Mind' is when your wolf is in command with your body. This is a rare occurance, and only happens if
- you are stressed
- you are angry
- you are badly injured
- you are scared
- you are in danger
The first sign of a 'Controlled Mind', is when the person begins to snap at people, as if in a bad temper.
The second sign is the eyes glow red, showing that the wolf is getting stronger and will take over (if not already, the person will shift into a wolf).
The third and final sign is the anger. The person will go on a murderous rampage and begin attacking anyone in the way.
This is very rare, but if someone does get a 'Controlled Mind', proceed with caution when calming them.
Tolken listened closely during the time taken to read the book and his grandmother was yawning.
"Nana is a 'Controlled Mind' real?" he asked when closing the book.
"Yes," she replied "it is real, but rare and dangerous, unless controlled itself correctly and used well." Tolken nodded and ran along to his bedroom.
