*George's perspective*

George was sitting at the tiny kitchen table, with Dream to his left and Sapnap sitting directly across from him. They had just finished eating breakfast together, and George was leaning back in his chair, eyes cast down as he focused on the warmth radiating from the large hand that was spread over one of his thighs.

It had been a couple of days since they had stolen the information about Technoblade's incoming weapon shipment, and they had settled into an oddly domestic lull inside the walls of the safe house. It made George feel restless and like they weren't doing enough. He wasn't sure how many more mornings he could eat breakfast at this table while Technoblade was still roaming the streets of the city nearby.

A squeeze to his thigh drew his attention up, brow furrowing as he shot Dream a confused look. Dream chuckled lightly, and then tipped his chin in Sapnap's direction as he explained, "Sapnap's talking to you, George."

When he looked across the table, Sapnap was staring at him with raised eyebrows. He looked at George like he was expecting an answer, and when none came, Sapnap let out an exasperated sigh and mumbled, "jesus, George. You never listen to me, I swear."

It drew a laugh from Dream, and George rolled his eyes as he muttered back, "don't be so dramatic, Sapnap. I'd listen if you ever said anything that was actually important."

Sapnap opened his mouth to protest, but shut it just as quickly when Dream raised his eyebrows in a warning look. George gave him a smug grin from across the table, and Sapnap narrowed his eyes just before kicking George hard in the shin. George winced, pushing his chair back as he glared at Sapnap and spit out, "real mature, idiot. Do it again and I swear I'll kick your ass."

Sapnap braced his hands on the table, leaning forward as he shot back, "go ahead and try, Georgie."

George could see the shake of Dream's head from the corner of his eye, and his calm voice floated between them as he said, "you're both children. Now stop, or I'll kick both of your asses."

George huffed out a breath, but he relaxed back into his chair anyway. Sapnap's forearms came to rest against the table, and he turned his attention back to George as he asked, "why weren't you listening to me, anyway? You've been distracted."

George shrugged, and he distracted himself with pulling Dream's hand into his lap and running fingertips over his knuckles.

"I don't know," he muttered, "I'm just going a little crazy staying here. I think we should go back into the city, I'm tired of hiding out here."

His fingers stilled in their glide over warm skin, and he watched curiously at the slight tense of Dream's hand before it was relaxing again. He hadn't thought to bring it up to Dream first, and he wondered if Dream would be upset that he had kept it to himself. But when he lifted his eyes in Dream's direction, he saw the subtle nod of his head as Dream responded, "I think you're right."

"You do?" Sapnap questioned from across the table, and Dream nodded again as he continued, "yeah, I think if we're ever going to finish this, we need to be in the center of it, not hiding out here. I think things have cooled down enough, and we should get back into the city and start planning our next steps."

George nodded, and he gave Dream's hand a gentle squeeze. Dream looked at him with a soft smile, and George's body warmed. He liked being on the same team, working together towards one common goal.

But it all came down to Sapnap, the current leader who they were all standing behind. It wasn't technically Dream or George's call to make, and George told himself that he would respect whatever decisions Sapnap made, even if he didn't agree with them. They were friends first and foremost, and he knew that Sapnap would make whatever decision he thought was best for the whole team.
