George was nervous, which didn't happen often when it came to facing Technoblade. He had always been fueled by a certain type of anger and betrayal, and it left very little room for trivial things like nerves.

But that was back when he had nothing to lose.

Now, he had so many more people in his life that he cared about. During this whole mess of events, his own team had become immersed with Dream and Sapnap's team, and now they were operating as one large, cohesive unit. And now, George cared about every single person on this team.

And that meant that no matter what happened when they went to meet Technoblade, George would feel responsible for the outcome.

But he was trying desperately not to think about that yet. Dream kept telling him not to worry, that they had plenty of people on their side to make this work. And while that might be true, his nerves were still eating away at him.

When it came down to it, they did have a strong team that worked well together. They even had some outside help. Punz was the first to volunteer; he was more than ready to get some revenge of his own after being held captive in Technoblade's basement alongside Dream. And Tina's team needed little convincing to come back to the city after they found out about Karl being Technoblade's most recent prisoner. And they still had Tommy, Tubbo, and even Wilbur working for them from inside Technoblade's ranks.

Given all this, they had a massive advantage. George just hoped it was enough, because he knew how strong Technoblade and his team were, and Technoblade was especially dangerous when he was angry. And after killing Schlatt and rescuing Dream, there was no doubt in George's mind that he was beyond angry.

As the team sat around discussing viable options for how they would go about this whole mission, George could barely keep himself focused. He couldn't seem to stop picturing it over and over his mind, and every single time it ended with either him or someone he loved dying at Technoblade's hands. If it weren't the only option, he would have no problem with simply running as far as they could.

But as it were, the only option was to stay and fight. And when Dream's hand found his from the seat beside the brunette, George silently reminded himself that he was doing it to protect everyone else, not himself.

"Are you okay?" Dream asked him quietly, and George zoned back in just as the meeting was ending and people were pushing back their chairs from the table.

He nodded, and Dream's eyebrows rose questioningly.

"George," Dream spoke again, but his tone was a bit more serious, "you've been distant ever since that phone call with Techno. Tell me what's going on."

"I just have a bad feeling," George answered, "and I can't shake it."

Dream gave him a soft smile and squeezed his hand, bringing it to his lips and pressing a soft kiss to the top of it as he muttered, "it's gonna be fine."

George didn't even bother nodding at this. Instead, he huffed out a breath and responded, "how do you know that? Last time I had a bad feeling, Techno lured me to his mansion, tortured me, and then tried to kill you in a burning building."

Dream hummed quietly, and he seemed to think over George's words for a moment. But then a small smile was settling on his face, and he kept his voice soft as he answered, "that's true. But this time, I'm confident that we'll be prepared and we'll be able to handle whatever Techno throws our way. We have a lot of people on our side, and we all have the same goal."

George breathed out, and he felt a little bit of his anxiety go with it. He nodded slowly, and Dream leaned over the arms of their chairs to kiss him before saying, "we're the dream team. We've got this, Georgie."
