With barely any time to spare, Sapnap and the rest of the group worked tirelessly over the course of the next few hours. They needed to throw together all the last minute details, to connect all of the hanging threads and tie them together into something that resembled a legitimate plan of action.

As each minute ticked past, Sapnap could feel his nerves growing into something nearly unmanageable. It was hard to fathom why he was going through all of this when he didn't even know who Technoblade was keeping locked up. And this whole thing was sure to put them right back on Technoblade's radar after so many months of quiet.

Sapnap could only hope that it would end up being worth it.

As time dwindled down even more, some of the nerves began to settle. They finally had a pretty solid plan, and it went as follows. Sapnap, George, Tina, Corpse, and Emma would all head down to the port where Technoblade's team would be meeting later that night. George would then call Technoblade from the location, and he was confident that with a few taunts and threats, he'd be able to draw Technoblade out of the mansion. Karl, Sam and Quackity would be watching on surveillance to make sure that Technoblade actually left the mansion, and once they confirmed it, Sapnap and George would leave the port and head for the mansion. Tina, Corpse, and Emma would stick around long enough to make the diversion believable, and then they would leave before Technoblade arrived. Tommy and Tubbo would be waiting at the mansion, and with Wilbur's help, they'd sneak Sapnap and George inside.

It seemed simple when it was spoken aloud, but Sapnap knew that it was anything but. It would be difficult to pull off, with a lot of moving parts that could easily go wrong. But he held out hope that things would go smoothly, and that each piece would fall into place as planned. And at the end of it all, they would finally discover the identity of the hostage. If it wasn't who Sapnap thought it was, then at the very least, they would be able to free whoever it was.

When it finally came time to leave, Sapnap found himself outside by the car that would take them to the port. Karl was standing before him, and he moved one hand to Sapnap's face as he quietly spoke, "you better be careful, Sapnap. I don't want you coming back injured."

Sapnap smiled, feeling Karl's thumb drag over his cheek as he replied, "I'll be fine, I promise."

He knew Karl's words were coming from a place of genuine concern and affection, but he hated when Karl worried about him. It made him feel guilty for making Karl worry to begin with, and he would do anything he could to ease the brunette's mind. But he knew there was very little he could say in this situation, and so he settled instead on reaching for Karl's waist and pulling him closer.

Karl smiled, and Sapnap's eyes dropped down to his lips as he muttered, "I'll be back before you know it, Karl."

He didn't give Karl any time to respond, pulling him even closer and catching his lips in a slow kiss. Karl melted into it almost immediately, circling his arms around Sapnap's shoulders.

The world around them always seemed to disappear when they were like this, and the only thing Sapnap ever focused on was Karl. From the softness of his lips, to the way his fingers played at the bottom edge of Sapnap's hair; Sapnap was always entranced by every little thing that he did. It almost made him forget about the daunting task at hand, but he was quickly reminded when he heard the familiar sound of George's voice as he broke through their trance.

"Are you about finished here?"

Sapnap pulled away from Karl with a sigh, turning toward George with an annoyed look to see him leaning against the car with his arms crossed over his chest. He only rolled his eyes at George, who breathed out a quiet laugh before disappearing into the car. Turning back to Karl, he gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and then said, "I'll see you soon, okay?"
