The day Julian's father passed.
"Do you think that's why women don't talk to me?" Alex asked, staring at a brown haired girl from across the restaurant. She would occasionally look up at him, but he hadn't noticed. He was currently leaning against the counter at the front desk and I was sitting in a chair next to him.

"I talk to you," I tell him as I scrolled through floor tiles on my laptop. I've been wanting to rearrange things here and I always loved looking for new paint colors and tiles. I even enjoyed picking out tables and paintings to hang on the walls.

"You don't count," Alex said, pushing his hair out of his face. I snapped my head up towards him as he keep his gaze on the girl.

"What do you mean?" I snapped at him and he looked at me.

"Your my best friend Elisia. I mean why girls don't talk to me here and flirt with me" he says and I laugh.

"Do you want me to leave?" I asked him, knowing I was probably the reason why girls never approached him. I mean the girl he currently is drooling over can barley make eye contact with me.

"No. I don't want any girl I'm with to not like you and she seems like the type to tell me to stop talking to you because you intimidate her," he tells me while grabbing menus for the couple that just walked in.

I smile at him. I'm glad that he wouldn't ditch me for another girl.

"At least you get looks from women," Jose tells Alex when he returns from sitting down a couple. These two idiots have been non stop talking about the brown haired girl that sat down about thirty minutes ago. She was pretty, but Jesus fucking Christ they were annoying already.

"Every time I try to talk to someone you come and they immediately lose interest in me" Jose pouts and I laugh at the them. Jose wasn't lying though Alex stole every girls attention from Jose and Mateo, but Alex was just like that he lit up a whole room with his humor and laugh. That's why he stole the attention because you couldn't help but smile back at him and wonder why he had all that energy. That's why he got along with everyone and part of the reason I am here right now.

I don't know what I would do without him.

He was what I needed when I lived in that hell hole, it was like god had sent him right to me knowing he would help me survive it. It was hard to smile in that house, but when Alex came around he managed to lift my spirit a little even if it was just to get my mind off things.

"Oh my god, she's coming your way" I tell Alex and he immediately turns on his feet. I burst out laughing from how fast he turned around. He looks back at me when he realized I was just playing with him.

"I should've known better than to believe you," Alex mumbles as he shakes his head in annoyance, but I saw a smile peak through.

"Well I'm going to leave. I'll come by tomorrow" I tell them as I close my laptop and stand up.
