I walked down the stairs looking at the million text messages that Alyssa sent. The restaurant was going to cost me money. Lots of it. I was probably going to be screwed for months. The damages cost me more than my fucking apartment all together and that shit was expensive.

And that was only taking into account the repair job itself. I still had to pay for the workers and, on top of that, I had to pay the rest of my own employees for their work before the fire. Shit. I owned my apartment so at this point I was definitely going to have to put it up for sale even though I absolutely loved it. I would just have to find another one after I got my money situated.

I continued walking towards the second kitchen where I knew the guys were. I looked at my phone, still trying to figure things out. I should not be having this problem. I had money saved.

Until I bought my collection of heels.

And my Mercedes.

I didn't even have it with me right now so that was a waste. I wasn't even going to be able to buy me another one any time soon either.

Would Julian let me keep the BMW after we got done doing whatever the hell we were going to do? I mean, it looked like he had a lot of cars already so what difference would one less make? Right?

I found my way to the coffee, not even paying attention to the guys at the table. I knew I heard them speak to me when I walked in but my mind was so caught up on all the expenses I was going to have to pay. I wondered if Mateo, Jose and Alex would mind if I didn't pay them their salary... Fuck it. They were gonna have to wait.

I still hadn't looked up from my coffee and my phone until the room got so quiet, I had to. I began to scan the room. They were all sitting at the table, just staring at me, and my eyebrows pulled together in confusion. There was an unfamiliar person sitting next to Julian. They looked alike but his eyes were dark green instead of brown. He was pretty cute too, but that wasn't what almost made my heart stop beating. It was the moment I saw a glimpse of blonde hair. Not just any type of blonde hair. It was caramel. I slowly trailed my eyes to the person sitting next to the cute guy.

Blue eyes stared back at me.

Layla.

Fucking Layla. What was she doing here?

Memories.

All the goddamn memories stared back at me in the form of blue eyes.

She stared at me like she was seeing a ghost. The room was so silent, I could hear my heart beating. Her hair was darker and so were her eyes. A lot darker from the last time I saw her anyway, but she was pretty, like I always remembered. She looked like she could be a model. Her blue eyes started to tear up as she looked at me. I almost wanted to give in, but I stopped myself.

I looked away, acting like she didn't affect me even though my hands were shaking a little. I grabbed my coffee from the counter, put my phone in my jean pocket, grabbed the keys from the counter and started to walk out.
