I watched Elisia as she watched the burning warehouse

I watched Elisia as she watched the burning warehouse. A faraway look on her face. One that worried me. She hadn't said a word since we left and that stressed me out even more. I wanted to know what was going on in that brain of hers. Wanted to know every thought and feeling. But the way she looked right now it seemed like she had no feelings at all. After she called 911 to inform them of the fire- which couldn't be saved- we left.

I didn't expect Elisia to be that open to what happened to her. It shocked me and I know the guys couldn't even listen to her anymore. I mean I knew some details of the stuff she went through but the way she spoke about it hit something different. I know everyone in that room could tell how much it broke her losing all of that. The toll it took on her mental and physical being.

But he was gone now and I hoped it gave her comfort that she could maybe live in peace. There would still be targets on her back but I'd be sure to get rid of them. She deserved to be happy.

Another glance her way and she had the same expression on her face. I stared at her for a second longer before I looked back at the road. We were almost to the hotel now and this time when I looked back at her she was taking out her eyes contacts before she leaned her head back and closed her eyes.

"Are we leaving tonight" Sergio asked from the back seat. The first person to speak the whole ride here and of course it was Sergio, the silence was probably driving him crazy.

"Tomorrow" I answered shortly. We were all exhausted and would get no sleep if we had to drive five hours and then another five on the plane. I parked into the same spot we have been these past days and we all got out.

Elisia seemed to be anywhere else but here. She walked beside us and got out the car but she wasn't fully there. Her skin was pale and she looked sick almost. I tried to stay close to her in case she decided to pass out. The lobby was completely empty and half dark. When we stepped into the elevator Elisia lost her balance like I predicted and almost fell over, all the guys took a step towards her but I was faster and caught her first.

When my hand came into contact with her bare skin she was freezing. The elevator doors closed and Sergio pressed our floor number, his worried gaze still on Elisia just like the rest of the guys. I kept her up and all her weight was on me. I nudged her chin up and leaned against the wall.

She peered up at me with heavy hazel eyes and I was gonna ask her what was up with her, but instead I put my arms around her to keep her warm. She was shaking and I tried to soothe her by running my hand down her back. She didn't fight me or tell me that she was fine like she usually would. Instead she leaned her head on my chest, letting me calm her.

She could be in shock for some reason and that's why her body was reacting like this. Or it could be the lack of food she ate today and it was my fault that I let that slide. I'm always on her about it, but today I wasn't.

When the elevator doors opened I didn't let go of Elisia. My arm still around her as I kept most of her weight up. I knew if I'd let go she would fall, she left almost limp in my arms. Like she'd pass out any minute now. I wasn't sure why and I wanted to ask but barbering her with questions wouldn't help either. No matter how eager I was too.
