Fuck.
Fuck.
Fuck.

We were less than five minutes away from her restaurant, but if these cars didn't start speeding up now, I was going to lose my shit. Alex fidgeted in the passenger seat next to me, running his hand through his hair and looking about ready to jump out of this car with me. I remembered Elisia taking a back way when I was with her last time so I knew that the turn was soon, but it would take at least ten fucking minutes with all this goddamn traffic.

We had lost Sergio and the others after a while, but they should only be a couple cars behind us.

I sat up in my seat with one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the gearshift as I peered over and tried to see what the hell was holding up the traffic. After a moment, I shifted my attention and looked in between the space of the cars.

"No Julian, no. We are not doing that again," Christan said from the backseat over the loud rain.

He knew exactly what I was thinking.

"Last time was a lot different," I muttered. I looked to Alex for his opinion and he just shrugged his shoulders, silently telling me to do whatever I wanted.

What I said was true though. Last time was a car chase and if I hadn't gone in between those cars on the highway, we might not even be here right now. Sure, I might have scraped a few cars and fucked up my Camaro in the process, but no one got hurt so it was fine with me. I knew how to do this and I sure as hell wasn't going to be reckless about it. I wasn't fucking stupid.

My dad always told me that if I felt it was right, I should do it.

So fuck it.

I put the car in reverse, going back as far as I needed to before quickly putting it back in drive. I turned the steering wheel to the right before stepping on the gas and straightening it out as I went in between the cars and the sidewalk with just enough room to not hit my goddamn mirrors off.

I sped down the road passing the traffic before I spun the wheel, taking a sharp right and into the back street I had seen Elisia take. We sped past everything on the road until we got close and gunshots started flying through the windshield. I turned the wheel as I slammed on the brake turning the car to the side.

Fuck.

A sudden wave of deja vu hit me.

"Life is hard Julian. I'm like this with you because you're going to need it someday," my dad said from the passenger seat, patting me on the shoulder as we sat at the red light. I looked over at him seeing the gray seep through his black hair. These years were catching up to him.

I was pissed at him right now but even then, I still appreciated the shit out of him.

We were currently on the way back to the house, the silence in the car filled with the loud rain hitting the windows. My dad let me take over most of the organization already and we were currently getting Luca ready to take over in California, but he wasn't quite there yet. He always let his anger get the best of him and he needed to work on that before anything else.
