I could never understand why people wanted so many kids. I could barely handle trying to have one.

And I hadn't even given birth to him yet.

Fuck.

Another sharp pain shot down my back, threatening my legs to give out on me. I took a deep breath, leaning against the bathroom counter as I took a break from zipping up my dress.

It was the second time I had to stop in the past ten minutes.

Was that bad?

Probably.

Julian wasn't here and I hadn't told him about my pain yet. It was his birthday and I didn't want to bother him with something that was unnecessary.

He was also currently in a meeting with Alessio and I wasn't going to fucking call him. Even if I knew he'd drop everything if I did call.

There was nothing to worry about anyway.

I was not going into labor until another week.

Once I made sure the pain wouldn't come back I finished zipping up the only dress that fit over my baby bump and put on my shoes.

Shoes. Not heels because Julian told me I shouldn't wear them while I was nine months pregnant. I argued with him that it was my decision and he had told me it was also his because I was carrying his baby. I wanted to kill him at that moment and then I wanted to strangle him when I got home one day and they were gone because I hadn't listened.

I was beyond fucking irritated.

Even more so when I entered the living room and I saw four idiots trying to put together the crib for the nursery.

"What the hell are you guys doing?" I snapped at them. Sergio looked up and grimaced when he saw me glaring at them.

"Elisia. It's a lot harder than it looks," he said.

Lo wiped sweat off his forehead as he screwed a piece in.

"It looks like it's going to fall apart the second I put him in it," I told them, trying to ignore the way it looked lopsided. Julian told them not to touch it but of course they didn't listen.

"Trust the process," Mateo said and Vince laughed, throwing down the instruction book like they didn't fucking need it.

I sighed.
