Now playing Solas by Jamie Duffy

WARNING: SMUT, PLUG

He looked at himself in the mirror that was conveniently placed down the hallway for performers to check their outfits before going up to perform. He adjusted his tie and straightened his blazer before moving on to fix his hair. Muffled music was playing in the background as there were other performers getting ready for their performance or taking the nerves away.

"Mr. Hwang," he heard someone call out to him, "you're up next."

He swallowed his nerves down and nodded to himself in the mirror. "You can do it," he whispered to himself as he took out a pair of white gloves to put them on. "You can do this."

He turned around and followed one of the staff members that called for him to the backstage. The last finishing touches were done on him before he could stand at the side and wait for his turn. He heard the last few notes that were made by the violinist on the stage before the hall was filled with claps from the audience.

He felt his nerves coming up again, some of them hitting him like a pile of bricks. He had done multiple shows, for watchers bigger than this, you would think that he would be used to performing in front of an audience. He pulled off his left glove, staring at the ring that he was wearing; it was white with black stripes on it. He took off his ring, turning it so he could see the letters that were engraved inside of the ring.

He felt his nerves die down once he looked at the letters, smiling to himself as he slowly wore his ring again and covered it up by wearing the glove. He closed his eyes, reminding him of the song he was going to play.

"That was an excellent performance done by Sim Jaeyun, let's give him another round of applause," the hall was once again filled with claps and a few people whistling.

He reminded himself about how he made this song that he was going to play.

"Next up, this person is a known pianist in all of Asia," the host stated, "his music has a way to make your heart clench and leave you and he has made countless big hits that inspired many younger pianists today."

He reminded himself how he wrote this song.

"Today, not only will he be playing for you but he will be playing for you guys his latest song," the host stated, a few excited smiles from the audience.

He thought of who he wrote this song for.

"Everyone, please welcome..."

He thought of him.

"...the top pianist of South Korea..."

He took a deep breath and let it out as he opened his eyes. He could do this.

"Hwang Hyunjin!"

Claps and cheers invaded the room, it got even louder when he walked on stage with a serious face. He faced the audience, bowing down to them and coming right back up to scan the room. His eyes were looking, searching for a particular person.

It landed on someone. Landed on him.

Wearing a pillbox with a huge black bow on top that could hide the male's identity, he could still see familiar dark brown eyes gazing right at him with such intensity. He smiled to himself before nodding his head to the audience and walking up to the piano.

He took a seat and opened the cover, brushing his fingertips on the piano before getting into position. He made sure his back was straight, cracked his neck, and finally took another breath in. He looked at the notes that were placed in front of him, they were notes for the song he was playing but he immediately tossed it away, startling some people with his action.
