Kate's POV

Avery led me down the main stairway into a gigantic white waiting room. The furniture had a modern feel to it, but at the same time had a Victorian vibe. Everything was neatly arranged and placed precariously through out the room. The walls were decorated with a cream colored wallpaper with little pink flowers all over it. It looked beautiful, especially with the sunlight filtering through the large windows. Avery took larger steps then I did, so I practically had to jog to keep up with him.

We walked into a magnificent dinning room and kitchen, there was a long mahogany table set with cream colored plates, and polished silverware. There was also a arrange of various flowers in the center, causing the room to smell like spring time. On the other side of the granite breakfast bar, was a fully equipped kitchen with a two door oven, 2 microwaves, a double door fridge, and what looks like miles of counter top space.

I glanced at Avery as he was staring me down with a unreadable expression on his face. I quickly looked away, knowing that if I looked into his eyes for longer then a few moments a tingling feeling would spread through out my body. We contained our tour by walking through the rest of the house, which I forgot almost as instantly as soon as I felt Avery gaze on me. Avery narrated every room we came to, how it was made, why his parents choose to make it the way they did.  For the most part I tuned him out, and looked for the best possible exist to take. There was one room that made me loose my escape train of thought.

The library.

Now I know what your thinking, the library, your the Callie girl who doesn't care about that kinda stuff, but in reality I do. I love to read, I can go on adventures without having to leave my room. That to me is magical. The library was huge, there had to have been at least 300 shelves, ceiling to floor, ranging from mystery non-fiction to romantic sy-fi. It actually made me want to cry, which was silly considering the situation I was in.

"Do you like it?" Avery asked from behind me.

"Like it?" I said turning around. "I love it, this is the most amazing thing I ever seen!" I quickly covered my mouth with my hands, realizing I had just betrayed to vow to silence I was trying to keep.

"Well I'm glad you like it," he said letting the sentence hang in the air between us.

I didn't know what to say next so I didn't say anything. It was at this point that a girl bounded into the room yelling loudly out the door to someone I couldn't see. "Well screw you to then, Mason!" She stopped when she saw us.

"Shit, sorry Avery I thought nobody was in here." She ran a hand through he shoulder length hair. She was beautiful, I would give her that. She had striking green eyes, flowing golden hair, and a body that most girls would kill for. She reminded me of a mermaid, it must have been her accent, I think it was Australian.

"Kate, this is Mia, Mia this is Kate

"Kate, this is Mia, Mia this is Kate. The girl whose going to be staying with us." Avery said, glaring at Mia.

"Avery just say it, you kidnapped her. She's probably confused and terrified," Mia started but was cut off my Avery taking several menacing steps forward. "Okay, I get it." She flipped her hair over her shoulder and started to walk back out the door. "Nice to meet you Kate. I have a feeling we'll see each other again soon."
