PIC OF AVERY"S PARENTS ON SIDE~~<<~~<<~~~

Kate's POV<

The first thought running through my head was "WHAT THE HECK!!!" Then I calmed down and composed my head. (LOL) I looked over at Conner who I could tell was trying very hard not to laugh. I glared at him as subtly as I could then looked over at Avery for some help.

"Kate?" He asked walking over to me. "Would you like to introduce yourself," He said and I could tell me was pleading with me to go with it.

I smiled at him, then turned to 2 of the most beautiful people I had ever seen. They were both looked like they had stepped out of a fashion magazine. The women who look about 26(!!!), was were a white dress that was longer in the back and had a slight scope neck, her shoes were white stiletto heels and a diamond necklace around her slender neck. Her hair was a dark brown with caramel highlights making is shimmer in the light, also her eyes where a deep chocolate brown that complained her hair beautifully.

The man was taller, he had on jeans, a dark blue turtle neck that might had look dorky on some people but on him it made him look dangerous, and he had a black leather jacket on top of it. His hair was deep brown also black, cut short and styled so that the top came up slightly. And his eyes oh his eyes, they were a light blue intoxication beautiful and hypnotic.

The man held the women close and she didn't complain, she had one hand one his chest with what looked like a pale emerald wedding ring. They didn't look parents they looked more like a young college couple that had just gotten married.

"Hello," I said stepping forward slightly feeling Avery right behind me.

"Ehello, there love! Avery's told us alot about you, but he never mentioned how pretty you were!" Said the man stepping forward and giving me the biggest hug I have ever had. He smelled of the woods just after a gigantic rain storm, and pine trees.

"Hello Mr....." I said once he let me go and I could breathe again.

"Oh posh posh, such formality, call me Luke." He said smiling. I could totally see where Avery got his looks, and eyes.

"Okay, Luke."

I looked over at the women expecting her to welcome me as the man did but she only looked me up and down then turned towards Avery and said, "She's human,"

"Mom!" He said grasping my shoulders and holding me tight. "Kate this is my mother, Vanessa. Mom why don't you say hi."

"Hello, now darling I'm absolutely exhausted from the travel here, why don't you show us to our rooms." She said smiling at Conner who bowed his head and gestured for them for then to follow him upstairs.

I smiled at Luke as they left, he patted my back and they put a hand on the small of his wife's back and led her up the stairs. As soon ad they were out of sight I whirled on Avery and said "What the hell Avery!?!? Why didn't you tell me your parents where coming? I mean....seriously.....I don't even know you that well yet, and you bit me and it didn't even hurt, and what did your mom mean by 'human'? What is she then if she's not human?" I said that all in one breath I was pretty impressed with that.

But Avery on the other had looked like he was going to be sick. "Kate...there's something you should know about me." He said looking at the floor.

"And that would be?" I was starting to get impatient with him.

"Come with me." He said jumping up, he grabbed my hand and pulled me over towards a bookcase in the back of the room.

"Avery? A bookcase? Really?"

He turned and smiled at me, "As far as you know." Then he grabbed a old leather looking book and pulled. The book case made a a cracking sound and popped out of the wall.

"Holy shit."

He laughed and pulled me into the wall and down a set of wet, slippery, stone steps. There was a bang behind us as the door swung shut locking us in complete darkness. But that didn't stop Avery he kept moving never stopping always knowing which way was which and what step to watch out for. It was almost like he could see in the dark.

Finally was came to an old wooden door that had the words 'Selene O, Likos.'  Which I think is Greek, but I wasn't sure I didn't even know what it said. But before we went in Avery turned to me and said, "Once I show you what's in here you'll probably run away and never speak to me again and even though it will hurt me, I'll understand the reason behind it. I love you, Kate but I'll lose you after this I know it."

It hurt. It really did, the thought of hurting him pierced my heart and made me want to cut off my feet so that I could never run away from him again. "I love you to," I said and leaned up to kiss him gently.

Once my lips touched his I felt the heat between us grow intensely strong. But it took everything I had to pull away and I hugged him close to me. "You could never lose me, no matter how hard you try." I said taking a deep breath pulling away to turn towards the door.

"Okay," He muttered under his breathe and pushed the door open.

The room was small I'll tell you that, the walls were made of the same grey stone was the steps where. They were covered with maps, and drawings, and there was one wall that was a complete bookshelves. But the books were old and fragile looking, like it you touched them once they would break apart like sand.

The only light was the candles that was spread throughout the entire room, the desk in the middle of the room was big to, made of what look like mahogany and was covered with scattered papers that one giant book that was made of red leather and bound with a golden wold head.

I looked back at Avery who gestured me forward. Taking a step into the room it was much warmer then in the cold tunnel. Avery walked to the desk to stand behind it, he looked up at me and I swear my breath stopped. He was stunningly beautiful in that light, but he really was his hair looked as if it was coal and his eyes seemed to be on fire even though they were the bluest blue.

"Kate, my mom was right you are human but you Kate were also right I am not human," I thought I saw something past across his eyes like pain, but as soon as it was there it was gone. "My family, my friends that live here in my house are not human. We are a old species, pushed into the back of humans minds, one of many names: Skin dancer, Loup Group, children of the moon,"

At this point I was hyperventilating inside.

"Werewolf." He breathed out the last word as if it was a burden and a gift at the same time.

I just stared at him as if he was crazy, which maybe he was I didn't really know, but I mean I guess it would make sense. The creepy house in the woods, the tunnels that go under the room, the creepy room with the book, the running really fast. I breathed out and fell back against the wall.

We sat in silence in what seemed like forever. "Kate, please say something." He pleaded I hadn't even realized that he had moved so he was standing right in front of me.

"Are you sure?" I asked feeling like there was nothing else to say.

He laughed out a breath of relief and he rested his forehead onto mine and said "Yes, I'm sure." The he kissed me gently and this time I kissed back not caring what he was or where he came from, only knowing that I was in love with him and he was a werewolf.
