Chapter 21: Challenge Accepted

Kate's POV<

After my energy had worn off I checked on Becka and Kathryn to see if they were okay, I didn't really remember what happened, but the only thing that really stood out from the blurry mess was the fact that Avery had run away from me in a disgusted manner. 

I walked down the marble stairs feeling the energy flow back into my body. I couldn't help my hips sway a little more then necessary, my lips come into a smaller smirk, or put a little more bounce in my step. It was almost natural, like I was doing it all my life, which I hadn't been. 

I had a game plan:WIN AVERY BACK. Nothing else mattered to me anymore, not my life, or the worry of my parents that I had buried into the back of my mind. Avery was comsuing more of my thoughts then usual. I needed to have Avery on my side more then ever now. 

I didn't know what was going on with me, but what I did know was that Conner, the boy who kissed me and ran away was leaning on the counter looking extremely sexy I must say. His hair was messed up like he had been running his hands through it, his shirt was wrinkled and had a little bit of blood on it. He had a little bit stubble going on, and it made me want to do what I was going to do even more. 

Everyone took one look at my crossed arms, then at Conner and left the room even in their awe that I was still alive. Conner was only half facing me and I could tell he could sense me from the way he tensed up his shoulders. 

I smirked, this would definitely get Avery attention. I fasted walked over to Conner, he had some stuff on the counter he was leaning on, he turned to me and said "Look Kate, I'm so..." I cut him off by pushing whatever he had out of his hand and pushing his back on the counter. 

"Don't," I whisper sexily in his ear, gently biting it for affect. 

"Kate...." He said gripping my sides. 

"I want you...." I whispered again trying to get Avery's attention knowing that he can feel what Conner feels. 

At that moment Conner grabbed my head and crashed my lips onto his. He was very needy and he was almost not concerned about Avery hearing his thoughts and seeing with his creepy all knowing wolf thing. 

He was SUCH A GOOD KISSER!!! Like literally I almost forgot what the purpose for all this was. He picked me up my thighs and placed me on the little counter and kissed my neck. I could feel his heartbeat, and his pulse, I moaned out loud which only got his pulse going faster. 

I smiled and moaned again causing Conner to moan to. I almost laughed at how desperate he was, I don't care if this hurts him, it was giving me power and I felt like I was on top of the world, and I was never going to come down. 

I pushed Conner off me and with my new super speed that I found pushed him all the way to a closed in living room and pushed him on the couch. I stood over him and smirked at how he looked at me with such longing, such need, he was like a lost puppy. 

I straddled him and kissed his face, his ears, and his lips, but as I moved down to his neck I could feel the pulse coursing through him and I never expected what was going to happen next. 

I bite down and tasted blood, and worst of all it tasted good. I drank the warm liquid letting it sink into my veins. I could hear Conner cry stuck in his throat, but before I was done a strong hand pulled me off of him by my shoulder, slamming me up against the wall. 

"Kate?" The angelic voice asked. 

I stopped fighting the person to look into the eyes of Avery. My Avery. Sweet loving Avery. Whose eyes were now hard, and fierce looking. "Kate what the hell are you doing?" 

"I...I...I...don't know....AHHHHHH" I said/cried out I clutched my head. 

Every moment, every thought, every touch, came flooding back to me. It was like someone else was in my body and know I was just waking up. "Avery...." I whispered and felt him kneel in front of me. 

"Come here," He said wrapping his arms around me and picking me up ever so gently. 

"I'm soo sorry..." I moaned "I don't really remember what happened, it was like....someone else was controlling me." I rubbed my head as Avery helped me into the kitchen. 

"Kate look at me." The command was stern but not mean. 

I looked up and saw Avery slightly crinch away from me. Did I really look that bad? He whipped something off my bottom lip and when he pulled his finger away there was blood there. I could still taste the sweet crimson liquid. It was like a drug drawing me in. 

I felt my teeth move! Yes move! Avery quickly moved back and showed me my reflection in the pan hanging over the sandbar. I gasped at what I saw. I HAD FANGS!!! FUCKING FANGS!!! WHAT THE FUCK!!!! 

"OHMYGODAVERY!!!!!" I shrieked and it was at that moment Mason and Drew walked in with Colton right behind them. 

"Ohi, mate you wanna keep your love making screams to a minimum,...." Mason was cut off by Drew. "HOLY SHIT!!!" He said jumping back ramming into Mason who just gave him the evil eye. 

I couldn't help but laugh, I missed these crazy people. "Hey Drew.." I said feeling the fangs disappeared and my eyes getting less sore. 

"How did you do that?" Asked Colton and Drew at the same time. 

"I don't know." I said thinking about it myself. 

"Here," Mason said handing a piece of toast that he got from who knows where. 

"Thanks?" I asked as he helped me off the counter and to the old wooden table on a porch that I didn't know existed. Mason took a seat next to me, Drew and Colton across from me, and Avery was at the head of the table holding his head in his hands. 

This was the first time I really got a good look at him. When he looked up he had a little stubble like Conner, and his hair looked dirty and sexy, but his eyes where so tired and worn they looked like old man eyes. 

I sighed and took some bites of my toast and they looked at me exactly like I was about to sprout wings and fly away. I looked at each of them and said "What?" They all looked away muttering 'nothing, nothing." 

It was in that moment when I remembered Conner. "Conner! Where is he, is he okay?" I asked suddenly standing up by Mason pulled me back down and said don't, that everything was fine, he was just resting. 

What have I become!?!?!
