I nearly jumped out of my chair at the all too familiar voice; Luke's.

"Well," I whispered, "now you know where i've been all week."

I finally turned around to look at him, he had flowers in hand and his face was swiped of any emotion possible, that was something even I haven't seen.

He looked simply tired - I'm sure I looked similar.

"Well, I guess it's nice to see you,"
He inquired.

"It really is," I agreed, "its been awhile."

He chuckled slightly, and then leaned to the side to see the sight behind me; Teagan. His face immediately dropped - I knew why, too - and he looked a little distraught.

He leaned back to his normal stance and met my eyes.

"Uh, here, these are for her," He nodded towards her and held out the flowers for me to take.

I reached out and gently grabbed them, setting them on a table next to me.

"Is that it?" I asked, it sounded ruder than it was intended to be.

"I guess," He scratched his neck, "yeah," he nodded.

"See you, bud," I gave him a sincere smile, despite it all. He returned it and then left shortly after.

When she woke up she was very happy to see that someone brought her flowers, and it made me realize that I never brought her any. Aren't I thoughtful?

I left shortly after because I realized that I needed to start going to school again, I hadn't gone for like 3 weeks, and I never gave the school an explanation as to why I never showed up, not that I care.

I drove to the school, and for once, it felt foreign to me.

I walked into their, the students that were passing looked confused as ever. They starred at me like I had grown a second head, some of them looked disgusted or genuinely scared of me. I wonder what that was about.

I walked up to the office and waited for one of the secretaries to help me.

"May I help you?" The older woman asked.

I nodded, "um, yeah, I'm Michael Clifford and I was wondering if you could give me a late pass?"

I sounded nervous and I don't know why.

"Oh, Michael! The principal would like to see you later today," She informed, "here's your late pass, and here's a pass for 7th period for principal Adams."

I gladly took them and went right to my locker. I tried putting in my combination for the lock but I quickly realized that I didn't remember it.

I thought for about 5 minuets until I finally remembered it and put it in the right way. I got out the books that I would need for 6th period and closed it quickly, running off to my class as fast as I could.

I opened the classroom door slowly, I watched as everyones' heads turned. They looked at me in bewilderment - which I understood.

I walked to the teachers desk and set my late pass down on her desk.

I went to a random empty seat, and noticed that people were still looking at me. I threw a sarcastic smile their way which actually made them turn around.

When the bell rang for 7th period, I headed to the principals office. I gave the secretary my pass and walked back to the door labeled "Adams".

I knocked quietly.

"Come in!" Her voice boomed through the door.

I opened the door and slowly shut it behind me before taking a seat in one of the chairs in front of her desk.

She gave me a smile in which I did not return.

"Michael, it came to my attention that you haven't been coming to school a lot lately and I was wondering if you could give me and explanation for it?" She explained.

"I went on vacation at first, and then some problems popped up, and after that, my friend got into a bad accident and she's in the ICU," I explained vaguely.

"Teagan Michaels, that is?" She quirked an eyebrow.

"Uh, yeah, actually," I confirmed.

"Everybody knows, incase you were wondering how I knew. But, besides that, thank you for showing up today," She smiled again.

I nodded and walked back to my class.

Nothing much happened after, seeing that everybody already knew I was back and nobody was giving me weird looks anymore, or at least they were, but not as many of them were.

"Michael!" A guys voice echoed through the cafeteria, but nobody was fazed by it and nobody turned around.

I turned around to see who was calling for me and was met by none-other-that Calum.

I smiled in his direction and beckoned him over to me. He cut in front of everyone that was in the lunch line just to get to me.

"Where've ya been?" He asked.

I shrugged, "everywhere actually." Which wasn't a lie for the most part, I mean I did go on a spontaneous road trip to California.

He gave me a confused look.

"I explain later, if you're open," I offered.

He nodded to my offer and we got our lunches.
