3:47am.
3:48am.
3:49am.
I was watching the clock. Why? Beats me. It was 3:49am and I was starring at a clock. What happened to me?
4:30am.
A small sniffling noise came from Teagan. I didn't think much of it until she sniffled again. And again, and again.
I pulled her closer to me and nuzzled my head into her neck from behind. I kissed the spot behind her ear.
"Baby, what's wrong?" I whispered.
She sniffled again but no words came out. I squeezed her into my arms and then loosened my grip like before.
"C'mon," I whispered. I pulled back from our little cuddling secession and laid her on her back. I crawled on top of her and rested my elbows on each side of her. It was pretty dark in the room because of the time and there were no lights on. But I could still see the glimmer of the moon in her eye from outside.
She turned her head to the side so I wouldn't see her cry, I reached up and turned her head back to me. She shook her head.
I sighed, "Why are you crying? I just want to help you."
I pecked her lips shortly before pulling back; a small gesture of reassurance.
She sniffled again, "I miss home."
I smiled a little before stroking her cheek with my thumb, "You are home."
I could hardly see the smile that etched across her face but it was there. "Are you saying that when I'm with you, I'm home?" She asked.
I pecked her lips again, "That's exactly what I'm saying."
I wiped away the final tears that escaped her eyes and kissed her for real. She kissed me back this time. She wrapped her arms around my neck and weaved her fingers through my hair, she tugged lightly, I moaned into her mouth.
After that she untangled her fingers from my hair and pushed on my chest a little so that I would get off.
"I'm too tired," She whispered.
"That's okay," I whispered and rolled off of her.
I pulled her close to me and fell asleep for once.
----
"Shit," Teagan whispered.
"What?" I twirled around to see what she was cursing about.
"Just something on TV," She shrugged.
I nodded and walked into the bathroom.
I filled the sink with water, got my razor out, and then started to shave the week-old stumble that had formed.
