Therrie's Thirty Days of Temperamental Cycle

Chapter 8: Jealousy

"Therrie, are you awake?" Arkin asked, slowly shaking her body to wake her up.

Dahan-dahang iminulat ni Therrie ang kanyang mata at bumungad sa kanya si Arkin. He just got home from his work back in the club. She chose to stay in his apartment so people who are looking for her wouldn't know where she is. Bukod kay Arkin, wala na ibang nakaaalam kung nasaan siya ngayon. Unless Arkin told the authorities kung nasaan siya ngayon.

And that wouldn't be the best-case scenario for her.

Sometimes, in this case, may mga pabuyang ibinibigay sa mga missing person and she believes that Arkin would be able taking the bait as soon as he was offered. But whenever she stares right into his eyes, she knows she could trust him so well. Hindi pa man lubusang magkakilala ang dalawa, but this is enough for her to trust the man with her life.

It's funny to think that she trusted a stranger more than the people she is close to. They betrayed her and that's something she couldn't forgive immediately. Time will tell.

"Anong meron?" takang tanong ni Therrie.

"May gusto lang akong ipakita sa 'yo," aniya.

Bumangon si Therrie mula sa kanyang pagkahihiga at sumunod kay Arkin patungo sa sala at sumilip lamang sila mula sa bintana. Buong pagtataka naman ni Therrie kung anong ginagawa niya. She only has a slight idea on what's going on, but what could go wrong this time? Inaabangan na ba nila ang pagdating ng mga pulis para dakipin siya? She's thinking worse and that's not a good sign.

Kaba ang namutawi sa dibdib ni Therrie. Pinipilit niyang alisin sa dibdib niya 'yon pero hindi niya magawa. She's overthinking it again and this is the hardest part of her life. She's been struggling for most of her life and still she has no idea how to end this situation.

Ending her life isn't what she thought about. She knows she could do something more and that's not to end her life here on earth. Napakarami pa niyang pwedeng gawin. She's going through this every single day, nakasasanayan na niya rin so there's no reason for her to do something bad just to end it. If there's a cure to her condition, she will take it, but if there's not, it's not a reason to end things abruptly.

Every problem has a solution... it's just that, Therrie is far from discovering the truth. Even from that cure—taking temporary medication isn't helping so that's not what she needed. Not at this time.

"May nakita kasi ako sa labas," pagkukuwento nito.

"Ano naman 'yon?"

"May pulis do'n sa baba," dugtong nito. Bahagya namang natigilan sa paghinga si Therrie. She's expecting that this will happen, but this scared her to the core. Ayaw niya lamang ipakita kay Arkin na natatakot siya, but if she won't tell a thing about it, its visibly shown in her face. She even stepped back away from Arkin, terrified of what he could do next.

Therrie remained calmed just to make sure he won't do anything bad at her. "Anong ginagawa nila sa baba?"

"That's the reason why I woke you up habang nandiyan pa sila sa baba. I've heard them talking about someone—a girl who just escaped a mental health facility. I mean, if I don't know who they were talking about, I would just let it go, but because I knew the person they were talking about... I tried scooping in some news. It's unusual for me to do that though... especially to cops."

"I understand," she sighed. "So, they started looking for me..." Nagpakawala nang malalim na buntonghininga si Therrie. She tried to cover it up with a smile pero hindi niya maitatanggi na ayaw na niyang bumalik sa mental health facility na 'yon. Two months was already enough for her. She never thought she would lose it while she was there.
