Chapter thirteen: ~Lina

Oblivion doesn't take me like I want, I wish it would though. I wish I could curl up and let myself be swallowed by the Earth. Yet I'm here, lying on the cold damp cell floor. The blood from the rogue pools around me, staining my clothes and my skin, but I don't really care. I feel numb and my body refuses to co-operate properly. Tears stain my cheeks and continue to flow in a heavy yet steady stream.

I hear voices behind me but they sound muted. As if my head was underwater and there were people out the water shouting. Sounds but not quite recognisable. The occasional growl is easy enough to make out though. I eventually feel a hand on my arm and it pulls me up in a rough manner. I whimper slightly but not in pain. I'm too numb right now for pain.

Whoever is dragging me pulls me quickly and I stumble trying to keep up with their fast pace.

"Tate." I hear Killian say. He sounds close so maybe it's him who's dragging me? "As punishment for defying me, you are to be locked in these cells until further notice." His voice is laced with power and dripping with venom. For anyone with a wolf they will have no choice but be submissive.

"Yes Alpha." I hear Tate say. I feel sorry for him, I was the reason he was being punished. It was because of me he was being locked up and talked to like he was a mere omega. He had only been trying to help me and instead I get him locked up. I really can't see clearly now as my eyes continuously grow blurry and more tears fall down my cheeks.

I inwardly curse my body for acting so weak and vulnerable in front of everyone there. I can't control my body though. Right now it feels as it it has a will of its own and will do whatever it wants. No matter what I do it won't function properly. I trip on my feet a lot and if it weren't for the person pulling me along I would have fallen over and injured myself a lot.

The hand in my arm tightens as I feel a cool breeze hit my skin. The hand the. Let's go and I shiver taking deep breaths. I wipe my eyes and let my sight readjust. When it does I confirm my suspicions that it was Killian who pulled me out. His eyes are dangerously dark and he appears to be shaking a lot. His wolf must be close to the surface.

As he appears to be having an internal battle with himself I walk off slowly keeping my eyes on him. He doesn't seem to notice and I then turn and take off into a sprint. I can tell when I'm not wanted and I don't want to be around that anymore. I'm tired of being unwanted and rejected. I'm supposed to be Killian's mate but all he does it push me away and around. Treat me like I'm merely an object he can do whatever with.

I hear a growl behind me before in tackled to the floor. Before I hit the ground a fur body turns us over and I land on it. When we stop rolling I look up to see a large grey wolf. Whereas I was expecting a large black wolf like most Alpha's appear tone Killian's wolf was a beautiful grey. The colour reminded me more of a silver. His eyes were no longer brown but pitch black, a light gleam in them. I know that Killian is not in control.

I lie on the ground just watching holding back my tears. If he doesn't really want me why doesn't he just let me go. I watch Killian's wolf whine before lying down in front of me. Watching. I cock my head to the side in confusion and he gets up walking over to me. I whimper involuntarily and the wolf whines again.

As I take a deep breath to try and calm down the wolf stands above me. I knew he'd be large, he was a werewolf after all. But this was huge, he could rival any Alpha anywhere. His large frame towers above me cloaking me in the shadow of his form. I hide my head in my arms and curl up, but nothing happens. I hear what sounds like the wolf sitting down before feeling the warmth of its body curl around me. A nose nudges my neck and I shiver.

Looking up I watch the wolf carefully. My eyes looking into his, behind them it's clear Killian is putting up a fight but right now his wolf is much stronger. The wolf rests his head on my neck and I can't help but curl up into him...my eyelids feel heavy as I relax completely next to the wolf.
