After Nagini finished scolding the living shit out of Lucius, she sent him off back to the riot, but not without making sure his teeth were shattering.
"What will your next step be tonight?" Lucius asked before leaving, but not daring to stare into her deadly glare.
"I hope to find Crouch Junior tonight. I obliged him to send the Dark Mark into the sky."
Lucius fell deep into his thoughts, questioning if this was a good idea.
"I'm wondering, Master, do you reckon your father would agree with this - I- mean - isn't it too far -"
"Once again you are defying my words. I'm starting to wonder if the Sorting Hat came to the wrong decision: you resemble the bold idiocrasy of a Gryffindor." She hissed in his direction and Lucius took a considerably large step back, murmuring words of apology and forgiveness and as fast as he could - he made a run back to the riot, a place much safer than standing close to Nagini's presence.
"Filthy air waster." She mumbled quietly for only herself to hear.
Turning back into a python, she slid the smooth grass with her overbearing long size and darted deep into the forest, activating her sense of smell to catch Junior's scent. Nagini could still make out the faint shouts of pleading and the colorful image of the spell flying behind the thick tress, a mix of green and red. It was always green and red.
She felt proud. She felt proud that her father will definitely feel delighted tomorrow morning after hearing the news of the Attack at the Quidditch World Cup. Oh, how her icy heart desired to bring him his dear Harry Potter, his all self at his knees. But she knew she couldn't risk it: the Dark Lord would forget it all about their Death Eater's support and her loyalty towards him – instead, boiling rage would form in his already lost and empty soul, and Nagini knew him for long enough to acknowledge how his anger could overpower him with ease and cloud his judgement. There were definitory steps everyone needed to follow. There is no denying in admitting how much murder could arise in one mere second.
Nagini lost herself deep in her thoughts, remembering how her appetizing meal remained alone, Mrs. Roberts, the flesh rotting away and not receiving the chance to get a proper taste of her meat...
By pondering this crisis, her nose finally picked the blood scent - sadly, safely inside its owner's body and not spilled. Barty Crouch Junior was standing a few feet away, hid in a bush, preparing for the defining moment to send the Dark Mark into the sky.
Nagini deliberated she might as well give him a little jump, since her ears and eyes didn't find anyone near their area.
As silently as she could, she sneaked behind him, making sure Junior didn't feel her presence just yet and slid closely next to his left leg.
Jerking his entire body away from her, pulling a wand from his pocket, completely freaked out of his mind, his heart threatening to crush his chest hard. When Junior took a closer look to the giant snake and beautiful black and green pattern on its coils, he suddenly remembered that this couldn't be any other than Master Nagini herself. He removed the wand and placed it back into his pants, although the magical stick didn't even look like his, but for Nagini it remained familiar, but couldn't lay a finger on why she recognized it.
The reticulated python was moving her head in a shaking manner, almost seeming like she laughed cheerfully, but only hisses were coming out of her voice.
"Master Nagini! I apologize in advance, I didn't realize that your mighty company would be joining me tonight." he quickly bended his knees and pressed his whole body onto the ground, in an attempt to bow respectfully to her, but did it with great difficulty, taking in consideration Nagini had her form all set on the ground. it was quite an amusing sight seeing his butt up high and his upper body down.
Nagini transformed back into a human, trying to contain her hysterical laugh, close to spill from her throat.
"Crouch, I appreciate your respect, but for the sake of Salazar, get up, you look ridiculous!" she giggled.
Junior rose on his feet in a second, his face flushed from embarrassment and hiding his stare from under Nagini's gaze.
The snake human came tot the conclusion that she has to depart his thoughts from this occurring or he might kill himself from awkwardness.
"Well Junior, I've got to tell you that I met your daddy Senior earlier this day; seems quite intelligent, yet a mediocre, but if he wasn't such an antagonist for the Dark Arts, maybe me and father could have provided him a place in our ranks." Nagini sat down on the ground, patting the place in front of her for him to sit. She was only merciful and likeable with only the Death Eaters that didn't annoy her to the core, and most of all, those who weren't just joining the Dark side in spat of fear - but because they wanted to be here. They believed in their cause.
Junior collapsed on the grass, sighing calmer that he wasn't in immediate danger. "My father has no place with the Death Eaters. I'm waiting for the prefect moment to finish him off with my bare hands for sending me away to rot!" he spat, despite his relaxing state.
"I adore your taste for shedding blood. Don't worry, it will come earlier than you think." she smirked, tilting her head to analyze him.
Crouch Junior now seemed as if he remembered something important. "Master, I'm wondering how is the Dark Lord holding? Did he gain power again or..."
"All in good time, Junior." she replied, raising her arm to stop him from talking . "He is not fully in his previous state, but we are working hard on it. If the both of us follow the plan as we accorded then by next summer we'll restart the war we left behind."
"Oh, thank Salazar for it. Only God himself knows how much I worried myself with my Dark Lord." Junior looked like he finally let go of a stone which was holding all of his concerns in one place.
This was exactly the difference between Barty Crouch Junior and Lucius Malfoy. If there was a way for the blonde fuck to eliminate Nagini out of his life, then he would do it without question. He wasn't loyal - he was here out of duty and fearsome, to scared to do anything by himself. Meanwhile Crouch dedicated half of his life to the Dark Arts and even offered himself for all of the most dangerous tasks, including Nagini's transformation in human. it was clear as a day who the Master preferred more.
"I've acquainted this wand," Junior said, pulling the familiar stick from his pocket. "I've followed Potter and his friends and the boy dropped it, and I came with a brilliant plan!"
"Enlighten me." Nagini demanded.
"Well, I'll use his wand to create the Dark Mark. After I'm done, I will throw it away before anyone finds me so later on when the Ministry gets their hand on the wand and sees it's named after Potter, they'll imprison him for siding with us." he said all of that, gesticulating his hands and plastering a toothy smile on his face. He was obviously excited.
But it didn't excite Nagini.
"This could potentially be a great idea, but only an idea it remains." she watched as Junior's smile slowly dropped and hid his eyes once again. "Did you forget you have a reason for coming to Hogwarts? And on top of all of that, no one would believe Potter actually did it. Everybody knows his history with my father, he'd never even think to join the ranks."
"O-f course, Master Nagini, you are entirely right as per..."
His words were interrupted by the leaves of their bush ruffling. It could have easily been the wind, but neither of them felt any breeze flow past them. And plus, giant shiny eyes aren't usually found hiding behind thick trees.
