How the hell did this even happen? Actually scratch that you already knew the answer. You looked at Deuce and a bunch of other students lying unconscious in the infirmary while sitting next to Deuce's bed, holding his hand in yours. What happened? Well, it kind of involved you in a way.
•Flashback•
"What's a shroom again?" Deuce asked you as both of you sat in the quiet library, studying for an upcoming test in Professor Crewel's class.
"Really Deuce? You asked that on like, the first day of class. Anyways, a shroom is the spore-bearing, fruiting body of a fungi. They're typically produced above ground and on soil." You told him. You remember telling him what a shroom was on the first day of class, this just gave you a sense of déjà vu.
"Ahh I see, thanks for that I'll definitely remember now."
"Uh-huh..." He'll probably ask me again later, bet.
As you were both busy studying, a group of students were giggling and making their way towards you two. You and Deuce looked at them with skepticism since they looked sketchy.
"Hey there cutie~" Is what one of them said to you. You only started at them in disgust as the rest of them began to laugh.
"Um, first of all, do not call me that. Second, is there something you need from me?" This time you stood up and glared at them, unhappy that they just flirted with you. Out of all places they even chose to do it in a library too.
"Yeah, I could use a date y'know...with you of course." Another one of them said and they started laughing again. This irked you a lot and out of the corner of you eye you could see that Deuce's veins were literally popping out on his face out of anger.
"Sorry but I'll have to reject you and every one of you here." You retorted back at them which only made them smirk.
"Awww come on~ we can just hang out for a bit~" The same person came stepped in front of you and decided to caress your face which made Deuce snap.
"Oi, mind your own businesses would you?" He said in a really low voice, death glaring the group of students.
"Tch, and what are you gonna do about it?" The student said in a condescending tone, clearly mocking Deuce. It was a bad idea really now that you think about it, maybe you should've just took Deuce's hand and got out of the library but nope, you were like a frozen deer in front of a car.
"What am I gonna do about it? How dare you to even TOUCH them without their permission and think that YOU would get out without consequences!" Deuce yelled out really loudly and charged forward to land a harsh punch on the student. Unfortunately for that student, he was totally knocked out and unconscious. Deuce was panting really heavily now and he pushed you behind him as a way to protect you. The rest of the group looked at their friend in horror. They were scared at what Deuce would do to them but they couldn't show their weakness.
The rest of the group tried to beat Deuce up however a few first years came in and stopped everyone from almost murdering each other.
"Deuce! Calm down!" Epel yelled at him while trying to hold him back from lounging at the students. Sebek stood in front of the group of students, glaring at them to back off which they did since they found Sebek intimidating.
"D-Deuce! Please calm down, we're still in the library!" You pleaded to him. He looked at you and his face softened and he eventually calmed down. In the end Sebek carried the poor unconscious student to the infirmary.
If you thought that was the end, you were wrong on a million levels.
It was the next day and both you and Deuce were in the library again. Everything was peaceful yes until the same group of students showed up again, excluding the unconscious student from before, he was too scared.
"Hey you, what was your name? Oh right, Deuce. You thought we were gonna let you off huh? Well you're wrong." The student cracked his knuckles and charged at Deuce, however he was able to block the punch and end up uninjured.
"The hell do you want again? I thought yesterday was already enough!" He told them, glaring at them again as you could only sit in your chair and watch as everything unfolds.
"Well, simple. We want them," He pointed to you, "and if we win against you then they'll have to come with us," He smirked at Deuce.
"What?" Deuce gritted his teeth. In all honesty he's been angry before but he's never been THIS angry before. He looks like he's about to cause a whole massacre, which is kind of what happened, minus them actually dying.
"You...FUCKERS! YOU DARE TO COME HERE AGAIN AND TRY TO MESS WITH US?! YESTERDAY WASN'T ENOUGH FOR YOU HUH? THAT'S FINE I'LL SHOW YOU IDIOTS THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR STUPID ACTIONS YOU IDIOTS!" Deuce punched the guy across his face and knocked him out cold. This started a whole commotion in the library and basically everyone evacuated. You only stayed a few distances away so you wouldn't get hit, hiding behind a bookshelf.
From what you hear, a ton of punches and kicks were thrown, including insults to each other. You were honestly getting worried for Deuce, him against a whole group of students is really dangerous for him. But then you couldn't really do anything since you were magicless so you could only hope for the best.
"BET THE LIMIT!" Deuce yelled at the top of his lungs. In an instant, a loud boom was heard and smoke and dust covered the whole library. Apparently Deuce had used his unique magic to defeat the group of students, and also accidentally breaking a few book shelves in the process. Not only that but using his unique magic made him faint as well.
"Deuce?!" You ran over to him and tried to shake him awake. You were on the verge of tears but you held them back as you had to get him to the infirmary first. As for the group of students lying unconscious on the ground, a few other students came and carried them to the infirmary.
•Flashback Ends•
Yeah, what a day today. You looked at Deuce and hoped for him to wake up soon. You even skipped your classes just to wait for him. It's fine though, you thought. You were sort of the cause for this so you stayed here too. You'll deal with Crowley's lecture later.
You felt movement in your hands and you knew that it was Deuce regaining his consciousness. He slowly opening his eyes and looked around.
"W-what happened?"
"Deuce!" You hugged him and he only let out a yelp and you quickly let go. He must've gotten a few bruises during the fight.
"Ah, right I fought a group of guys..." He said rubbing his head and groaning in pain.
"Yeah, yeah you did. Don't ever do that again, I thought I lost tou for a second!" You scolded him, he let out a sorry to you and you forgave him.
"I couldn't just let them flirt with you like that y'know..." He said in an apologetic tone and you couldn't help but smile at him.
"Listen, Deuce, as much as I love you, it would save you to let me handle these situation myself." You didn't even realize that you blurted that out.
"Eh?" Deuce looked at you in shock.
"What?" He looked back in confusion. Until you realized what you just said.
"Oh—"
