Nephophilia: The fondness of clouds. A person who loves clouds. Love of clouds
__________
You were gazing up at the clouds again. The fluffy, white clouds that moved along the sky put you in a daze. You were sitting below a tree on the campus during break as you had nothing to do. You were grateful that Grim and the A-Deuce Duo wasn't there to bother you today. Sighing to yourself, you wanted to go home as soon as possible as the other students outside were too loud.A certain somebody was looking towards your direction. That certain somebody was Lillia, the vice dorm leader of Diasomnia. He looked at you, your head craned towards the sky and your relaxed eyes staring up at it. He was taking a stroll on campus albeit he was now atop a tree, but seeing you sitting all alone intrigued him as you were always around your friends. Jumping down from the tree, he decided to walk towards you.
You weren't aware of your surrounding as you were staring up at the sky, so you didn't notice a certain fae approach you.
"Boo." You jolted from you daze and turned your head towards the voice. You saw Lillia hanging upside down from the tree and you let out a sigh.
"Lillia, I swear to the Great Seven, stop scaring me every single time that you come up to me." You scolded him. When you said every single time, you meant every single time. There hasn't been one time when Lillia didn't manage to scare you. You've grown used to it of course, but it still gets your heart racing due to you being frightened.
"Heheheh, sorry, (Y/N), but your reactions are always so entertaining to watch. Not to mention the best time to scare you is always when you are busy staring up at the sky." He chuckled and you only huffed and playfully hit him.
"Well, I prefer it if I can watch the sight in peace, you mischievous bat." You said in a very slow and sarcastic manner. That made Lillia laugh and you giggled along with him. Once both of you have regained your composure, he asked you a random question out of the blue.
"What's so special about looking up at the sky during the day?" You looked at him and he looked at you. You urged him to come sit next to you on the ground so that you could explain it to him. You've always wanted to tell someone about your interests and now, you finally can to the one person you've always trusted.
"It's not the sky that I'm interested in, it's the clouds." You pointed up at a big cloud.
"The clouds? Well, I can see the appeal it has, but, they're just clouds." He simply stated. You shook your head and began to explain even more to him.
"They're not JUST clouds, Lillia. They're pictures. Literally look at the big cloud above us, what do you see?" You asked him.
"Just a big blob of whiteness moving across the clear sky." He squinted his eyes at the cloud, trying to see what's so unique about it.
"Lillia, being a fae that has lived since I don't know, forever, I though that you would know. Sigh, anyways, every cloud is unique. The one that is above us," You pointed up at the cloud again, "In my eyes, it's shaped like a bat." Lillia made an o with his mouth and nodded his head at you, understanding what you said.
"I see..."
"Now look at the ones over there," You pointed to another direction, there were a lot of small little clouds there, "The one on the top is shaped like a bunny, the one on the far right is shaped like a snake, the one on the bottom is shaped like a caterpillar, and if you put them all together, it'll look like some sort of chimera."
"Pfft, yes, I can see that. I understand why you said that every cloud is unique. Also, don't make fun of my age, this OLD fae here has experienced and lived through even more unique things than you did." He said in a sarcastic tone, booping your nose at the same time with his finger. You simply laughed.
"Oh? Then, did you ever fly through the clouds?" You wanted to hear an answer from him. You knew that he could fly since he shamelessly does so almost everyday around NRC, but you wanted to see if he's ever used his ability to fly in the clouds before.
"Hm? Yes, of course, why do you ask? Is it perhaps, you want me to take you up there with me?" He smirked at you and you froze up. He pointed out your exact thoughts. Giving in, you told him the truth.
"Yes, that is the reason. I've always loved clouds and even though I can feel fog at times when it's humid out, I've always imagined actually flying through the clouds everyday. I know it's silly, but I can still wish for it y'know." You said very shyly as Lillia only looked at you in a neutral expression. Then, he smirked at you. Suddenly you felt two hands grab your waist and all of a sudden you were lifted high up into the sky and moved along with the clouds.
"Then I shall grant your wish." Lillia looked down at you with a smile as you looked up at him, not being able to believe that he actually took you flying with him through the clouds. You were so happy to the point where you were smiling very stupidly.
You spread your arms out like you were playing as an airplane and you were laughing. Lillia only smiled down at you, happy to see that the person he holds dear to him is having their wish fulfilled. He diverted his attention from you and focused on the clouds they were passing by. He marveled at the scene around him. So this was why you were fond of clouds. They were indeed, very unique and it felt nice to go through them as the humidity of the cloud brought a wave of cool air to both of you.
"Sigh, now this, this is amazing." You closed your eyes, feeling the clouds around you as Lillia simply agreed with you. You opened you eyes again and told Lillia that he can descend to the ground again. He complied, and eventually the both of you were now on a grassy plain.
You lied down on the grass and Lillia did too. Both of you were staring up at the clouds with a smile on your faces. Both of you felt the warmth of the sun on your faces and the breeze that the wind brought which swayed the grass around you both.
"What do you see in those clouds, Lillia?" You broke the silence. You were talking about the huge batch of clouds above you two with different shapes and sizes.
"Let's see...I see a tiny little dragon, a huge butterfly, a fish, and I'm not sure about the last one."
"Hm? Well, for the last one, I see a heart." You explained to Lillia why it looked like a heart and even drew the outline for him. He agreed and now both of you closed your eyes while still laying on the grass.
You snaked your hand around Lillia's and he let you hold his hand while the both of you laid there. Few moments later, you opened your eyes and turned to him.
"Hey Lillia?"
"Yes, my cloud lover?" He still had his eyes closed.
"How about another trip through the clouds back to Diasomnia?" Now he opened his eyes and turned his head to you.
"Why Diasomnia?" He tilted his head.
"We can watch it together from your room." You smiled. He smiled back and the both of you stood up.
"My room? Why not from the dorm's lounge?"
"Just because." You grinned at him and he shook his head.
"I hate you..."
"Yes yes, I love you too Lillia."
