It was 3:00am in the morning and Jeff laid awake in Nick's bed at his boyfriend's mum's place where he cuddled up to his boyfriend who was still asleep and thought about the time he was a new student at Dalton and the day he met Nick, it was two years ago, he had recently transferred from his old school which was a public school, after being bullied for being gay, and being bullied that all he wanted to do was sing, dance and play lacrosse and what made matters worse they judged him, criticised him, the friends he had ditched him, he was pushed, shoved and made him really insecure about his body that he ended up making himself sick every time after he ate. It was always a routine he had, he would eat and then he would make himself sick and throw up, in fear he would gain a lot weight but he got bullied that badly at the school that he wanted to kill himself. When he came out to his parents, his mum always said it was a phase, and his dad wasn't happy even though his dad was a little more accepting than his mum, but he was mad, they ended up sending him away, away to Dalton, where his dad's best friend's son goes because he too was gay.
Jeff had never met him, but he knew his name and that he went to Dalton. Jeff arrived at Dalton and was nervous because he didn't know what to expect from the students, and he didn't know if he would be accepted by anyone. Jeff found himself in the headmasters office waiting for his dorm room number, his uniform and his classes. As he was in the office waiting he was met with a beautiful brunette boy who had beautiful eyes that he could never forget.
The brunette boy looked at the blonde, held his hand out, smiled and said
"I'm Nicholas Duvall, but you can call me Nick." Jeff shook his hand, smiled and said
"I'm Jeffery Sterling, but you can call me Jeff." They stopped their hand shake, and Nick said
"Your dad is best friends with my dad." As Nick said that, Jeff knew that he was right, and he said
"Yeah he is, apparently they met at Dalton, at least that's what my dad has always said." Nick smiled and said
"Yeah they did, they were also warblers together." Jeff smiled at Nick's comment, and before he could say anything more, the headmaster walked out and gave Jeff, his timetable, his dorm number and uniform, and the walked back to his office. Nick looked at Jeff and said
"Want me to check your dorm number for you and take you there."jeff nodded, and gave Nick his dorm number. When Nick looked at it, he smiled and said
"That's my dorm, I'll take you." Jeff smiled at the memory and as he was thinking about that day, he heard
"Jeffy, what are you doing awake?" Jeff looked at the shorter boy in his arms, smiled and said
"Remembering the day I first arrived at Dalton and met you." Nick smiled and said
"I remember that day, the day we became roommates." Jeff hugged Nick tighter and said
"Remember when I told you about my bulimia?" Nick sighed and said
"I remember, you kept looking at me every time you ate something, I got paranoid, and I spoke to you about it, and that's when you broke down and cried and told me what happened at your old school and your bulimia." Jeff remembered that day vividly, he never forgot how Nick stayed there with him, as he just broke down and spoke about what happened.
"That was the day you stayed." Nick sighed contently and said
"I'll always stay by you." Jeff snuggled into Nick more and said
"Remember the day we got together?" As Jeff said that, both he and Nick smiled at the memory and Nick said
"I'll always remember that day." As Nick said that, both him and Jeff, cuddled each other, smiling and thinking about the day they got together. They were in the warbler room at Dalton studying for the class, as everyone such as Sebastian, Skylar and Hunter were in a rush to see their girlfriends, and Jeff had kept bugging Nick about what girl he could date even though they loved each other. Nick was getting slightly annoyed and kept saying that he didn't want to talk about it, because he knew he didn't like any girl, he liked Jeff, he wanted to kiss him so badly but he couldn't.
As Jeff kept pushing, Nick gathered his things and walked away annoyed because of Jeff. As he walked away Jeff followed him and called his name, and in that instant Nick dropped his books, lunged at Jeff and kissed him in the hallway of Dalton. As they pulled apart, Nick freaked out and ran away without picking up his things that he had dropped, and once Jeff was able to move his legs, he ran after Nick, tackled him to the ground and kissed him, despite Nick's earlier rejection because of his fear of not being good enough.
"I still don't understand why you ran away after you kissed me Nicky" Nick looked at his boyfriend and said
"Because I feared you would reject me Jeffy." Jeff lifted Nick's arm and saw the scars and said
"Because of your scars?" Nick nodded his head yes and Jeff kissed each of scars and said
"I could never reject you, and I could never leave you." Nick smiled and said
"That means a lot Jeffy." Jeff kissed Nick's forehead and Jeff knew that if he had killed himself then he wouldn't have met Nick, and if his parents didn't accept him, then that was okay, because he has Nick, his best friend and his true love, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
