A/N: I always picture Sebastian and Skylar being brothers and Marley and Rachel being sisters.
Note: Skylar and Marley had just started dating, and Skylar wants to get to Rachel's approval first
Skylar and Marley had just started dating and Skylar wants Rachel's approval for dating her sister, they were going to the Lima bean. He was nervous and Marley was somewhat calming his nerves.
"Sky, she will love you, not the same way as she does your brother, but she will love you." Skylar wasn't convinced and said
"She will only approve of me because she loves my brother." Marley wasn't convinced at what Skylar said, and said
"I know my sister. She won't. She will approve of you for you and not because of her feelings for your older brother." As she said that they reached the Lima Bean and walked in, and when they did Skylar saw Rachel, walked up to the counter ordered two coffees and then walked over to her and placed the cup in front of her as Marley went to Blaine and Sebastian's table.
Rachel looked up from her book and saw Skylar Smythe the younger brother of Sebastian Smythe sitting opposite her. She placed her book down, and noticed the coffee.
Skylar took a deep breath and said
"Rachel, I'm Skylar Smythe and I would love to date your sister." Rachel was surprised none of the guys her sister had previously dated ever wanted her approval first. Rachel was pleased that Skylar wanted her approval first, even though she knew Skylar didn't need her approval. Rachel smiled at him, and he said
"I know you mean a lot to Marley and-" before he could finish, Rachel interrupted him and said
"Sky, I love that you want my approval to date my sister, but you don't need my approval at all. Who she dates is up to her." Skylar shook his head no and said
"But I want it. If I want to date Marley, I want the approval of the person that means the world to her, and that's you, just like I know that if you ever tell Sebastian how you feel, you will want my approval." Rachel was shocked, and he continued
"I want to date your sister because she is beautiful, kind, loyal, really sweet and so much more. I know that she struggles with food because of what happened to her in the past. I want to help her with that. I know she is perfect. She's everything and more, and I want to show her that, and prove to her that she is. I want the chance to spoil her like she deserves. Treat her like a princess. Show her that she is enough and worthy of love." Rachel was pleased that a boy wants to treat Marley right, and was shocked that he wanted her approval. Rachel took a drink of her coffee that Skylar had brought her, and placed it down and said
"Skylar, I love that you want my approval to do all those things for her. You don't need my approval to date my sister, because I know you will do that anyway, but if you want my approval, you have my approval. I know you will make her happy everyday, I know you will treat her like a princess and show her that she is beautiful and perfect the way she is. I love that you want to help her with her food struggles and treat her how she should be. I know you and her had just started dating but thanks to you she is smiling more and she is the happiest I have ever seen her. Skylar Smythe even though you don't need my approval you have my approval to date my sister, and if you are worried that I'm only approving of you because of my feelings for your brother, I'm not. I'm approving of you because you make my sister happy, how you want to help her, show her she is beautiful and everything more and you are the only guy that has ever wanted my approval for her even though you are the only one that has never needed it." As she said that, Skylar was pleased stood up, held his hand out for Rachel which she took, stood her up and hugged her and said
"Thank you Rachel." They pulled apart the hug, as Rachel sat back down, and went back to reading as Skylar walked over to Marley, Blaine and Sebastian. Skylar sat down next to Marley and she said
"Did she approve, not that you needed her approval." As she said that, Sebastian and Blaine looked at them, and Blaine said
"Who's approval?" Marley looked at Blaine and said
"Skylar wanted Rachel's approval for dating me." Blaine and Sebastian were shocked, Sebastian looked at his younger brother and said
"Why did you want her approval?" Skylar smiled at Marley and then turned to Sebastian and said
"Because I know how much Rachel means to Marley, and I wanted her know that I won't treat her younger sister badly, and I wanted her to know how much Marley means to me." Sebastian smiled at his younger brother, and Marley looked at Skylar and said
"Did she approve?" Skylar looked at Marley, smiled and said
"She does approve actually." Marley was pleased and she said
"And not because of her feelings for that person." Skylar shook his head no and said
"No, she approves of me because I make you happy, and want to treat you like a princess and spoil you." Marley smiled at Skylar, and said
"I told you she would." As she said that, Sebastian zoned his younger brother and Marley out and just stared at Rachel, wishing she was his. Blaine nudged him and said
"She will be yours Sebastian. I know she will, and between you and me, you have my approval to date her." Sebastian continued to stare at Rachel and smiled at Blaine's comment and said
"Thanks."
