Sebastian sometimes hated it at Dalton because of the classes, well one class in particular, home economics. He hated the class, and to make things worse for the class, he had to look after a fake baby, and his partner was none of other than his best friend, room mate and secret crush Thad Harwood.
Sebastian walked into the dorm after home economics where Thad had missed it, and as he walked in he saw Thad cuddling the fake baby and singing to them. Sebastian wanted to walk out and leave Thad be, but he couldn't because he had to help Thad, even though he really didn't want to. Sebastian watched Thad with the fake baby, he admits that it's an amazing sight to see, but sometimes too far is too far, like right now with Thad Reading a bed time story to the fake child.
Sebastian needed to talk to Thad about this. Sebastian sat forward on his bed and said
"Harwood. We need to talk." Thad looked up at him and said
"Only if we talk quietly because you know." Points to the fake baby and said
"Sleeping." Sebastian sighed and said
"This is what I'm talking about." Thad placed the child next to him on his bed and said
"What do you mean Smythe?" Sebastian stood up and said
"Look at you Harwood, you're basically being a mum, reading, singing and cuddling them." Thad stood up and said
"So what, someone has to, and I don't see you volunteering to help our baby." Sebastian was frustrated and said
"This isn't OUR baby Harwood." Thad was annoyed and upset, and felt the need to stand up and defend her, and said
"Hush Sebby, Hannah can hear you." Sebastian looked at him annoyed and said
"Hannah?" Thad looked at the fake child and then at Sebastian and said
"Yeah it's her name, I named her." Sebastian points to the child on Thad's bed and said
"She isn't even real Harwood." At those last words and seeing how hurt his best friend is, Sebastian knew that this time he went too far. Sebastian sighed and softly spoke
"Thad." Thad turned around, sat on his bed without looking at Sebastian and said
"Maybe you should go." Sebastian didn't want to leave not when his best friend was upset, he hated being the reason that Thad was upset, and Sebastian knew this time there was nothing he could do. Sebastian turned, picked up his books and walked out the dorm giving Thad the space he wanted. He walked to the library, and when he entered he saw Nick and Jeff, he walked over and sat down next to them studying and not talking to them.
Nick and Jeff were concerned for their friend. Nick knew instantly that him and thad had a fight, and Sebastian went too far. Nick looked over at Sebastian as jeff stood up and walked to class and softly spoke
"Bas, is everything okay?" Sebastian sighed and said
"Harwood and I had a fight and I went too far." Nick felt for his captain and said
"What was your fight about this time?" Sebastian looked up at Nick and said
" I was frustrated, angry and annoyed at Harwood for taking the home economics assignment seriously." Nick sighed and said
"Bassy, you know Jeffy is taking the assignment seriously right?" Sebastian shook his head and Nick said
"He is and maybe Thad is taking the assignment seriously because of you." Sebastian was confused and said
"Why would he do that?" Nick shrugged his shoulders and said
"Showing you his kind and caring side. I think you're afraid because you don't want people to see how kind and caring you can be, especially to Thaddy." Sebastian sighed and said
"You're right, and what do you mean by especially to Thaddy?" Nick smiled at him and said
"I'm not an idiot, it's really obvious that you like him. Now go apologise and tell him how you feel." Sebastian gathered his books, stood up, and walked back to the dorm. He walked in and saw Thad fast asleep on his bed, Sebastian smiled at the scene. He closed the door so no one disturbed him, walked over and kissed Thad on the forehead while pulling the blankets up. Sebastian saw 'Hannah' on the bed, picked her up and started 'care' for her like Thad would do.
A few hours later Thad woke up and saw his blankets pulled up. He knew that it was Sebastian, as it was their little thing to do besides the forehead kisses before they fall asleep, it was something that Thad always cherished as he could never tell Sebastian how he really feels. Thad sat up on his bed, turned and saw Sebastian sitting on his own, with their fake child Hannah. Thad looked at him surprised and said
"You have Hannah." Sebastian looked over at Thad and said
"I do." They fell into a comfortable silent and Sebastian and said
"Harwood, I'm sorry, I went too far. I shouldn't have said what I said." Thad sighed and said
"Apology accepted Smythe." Sebastian was surprised at what Thad had just told him and said
"Really?" Thad nodded his head, and said
"Yes really, besides I think seeing you hold and taking care of Hannah is enough of an apology too." Sebastian smiled at him and said
"I know how much this assignment means to you Harwood." Sebastian stood up, walked the short distance to Thad's bed and sat next to him holding Hannah and said
"We're partners, and if taking care of a fake baby means that much to you, then means that much to me too." Thad then cuddled up next to Sebastian as they proceeded to take care of their fake child Hannah. Sebastian wrapped his arms around the small boy, and knew that eventually he would admit his feelings to his best friend, but for now this was enough for him, because he had Thad which meant more to him than anything and any stupid fight and he knew that with Thad everything will be okay.
