Blaine was sitting at a table in the lima Bean working on some homework and revising for tests that he has through the week and studying for his SATs that he has the following week, when he heard the chair across from where he is sitting scrape on the tiled floor. Thinking it was Kurt finally arriving for their study date, Blaine looked up from his open French Revolution textbook and looked up from writing in his notebook and saw Hunter sitting across from him with a confused look. Blaine closed his books to talk to him and said
"Clarington what's up? Are you okay?" Hunter stayed silent, he was curious as to why Sebastian Smythe was nice to him. The only person besides Noah Puckerman and obviously Quinn that was nice to him was Blaine and Hunter thought the best person to answer why Sebastian Smythe of all people would be nice to him. Hunter sighed and said
"I just want to know why..." he paused as he didn't know how to finish his question without it sounding so weird, how to question why Sebastian Smythe is nice and nice to him when they first met Hunter hated him a lot and Sebastian hated him a lot too, Blaine looked at him as if he knew what Hunter was going to ask, Blaine took a guess at the rest of Hunter's question and said
"Why Sebastian Smythe of all people is nice to you, even though you both hated each other when you two first met" Hunter nodded his head. Blaine leaned forward and said
"I do know why, and I do know that you are trying with Sebastian because of your cousin Rachel and Marley and also trying with Sebastian because of the Warblers and The respect he has for the boys something in which you could admire and take into account Clarington" Hunter stayed silent and then said
"Is it because of Rachel, as to why he is nice to me all of a sudden?" Blaine shook his head no and said
"And it's not because of your younger cousin Marley either or even the Warblers." Hunter was still confused, if it wasn't because of his cousins or the Warblers, then why is the one and only Sebastian Smythe nice to him, and Blaine continued
"Its because of Skylar." Hunter was shocked, and he quickly said
"Did Skylar like tell his brother to do so or something." Blaine shook his head no once more and said
"No." Hunter was confused once more and why it would be because of Sebastian's younger brother and said
"Then how and why is it because of Skylar?" Blaine sat back in his chair and said
"It's because you took your time with Skylar, to get to know him and you are protective of him as much as he and Rachel are and as much as you and Rach are of Marley, and he too is protective of Marley and Rachel just like the Warblers are too. Anyone who is protective of Skylar as much as he and Rachel are. He's nice to, and he takes his time with them. Because they have taken their time with his younger brother. That's why he is nice to you Clarington, it's because of how you are with Skylar. So he returns that favour with being nice to you, and being equally protective of your cousins, because of how you are with Skylar. He's protective of Skylar, and he knows you are too." Hunter was shocked and said
"So he's nice to me because I took my time with Skylar?" Blaine nodded his head and said
"That's right Clarington. Do you want a little piece of advice with trying with Sebastian, since he used to be my room mate before yours, I can offer some advice to you." Hunter nodded his head as he is trying with Sebastian, even if it's for Rachel's, Marley's and The Warbler's sake, at least he is trying with him, and Blaine said
"Take your time with him too, like you done with Skylar. He'll surprise you, as much as he has done so far with being nice to you and with respecting you too." Hunter took in Blaine's words, and he agreed with him, Sebastian has surprised him with being nice to him. Hunter knows that Sebastian graduates at the end of the year, and he knows it's Skylar's first year without his big brother by his side at school. Hunter made a mental note to himself, to not only look out for his younger cousin Marley, but to look out for Skylar too. Maybe Sebastian would be even more grateful to him for looking out for his younger brother, since he can't.
Hunter thanked Blaine, stood up and then walked to the back of the coffee line. He turned when he heard the door open and saw Sebastian, walk up behind me. Hunter spoke first
"If you want, since you graduate this year, I can look out for Skylar for you next year." At those words, Sebastian was shocked, but he was grateful. Because Skylar was his on,y family that cared about him, and he was the only one that cared about Skylar. Sebastian gave hunter a small smile and said
"I'd appreciate that Clarington. Really I do. Knowing that someone is looking out for him while I'm not at school with him. It means a lot to me. So thank you for doing that Clarington really." At those words, and as Hunter heard Sebastian say that, hunter knew that it was true, he is grateful, and Hunter knew that Blaine was right, he did have to take his time with Sebastian, but making sure Sebastian's younger brother is going to be okay next year, he knows that Sebastian Smythe will be pleased about it. And hunter knew that what Sebastian had said, is true, he knows how grateful the older Smythe is to have someone to look out for Skylar, because he knows it's always been Sebastian and Skylar for a long time.
