THE CABANA WAS one of the hottest spots in the city for a rooftop cocktail occasion. The modern feel in conjunction with the fresh breeze of the night was a thrilling feeling, to say the least. My favourite part of it was the scenery you could see from the top. How a beautiful surroundings can change the entire atmosphere.

Mina had organized the bachelorette party for me, she wouldn't have allowed anyone else to do so. The invite list was fairly long, way out of my comfort zone but I knew this party wasn't only to celebrate my last days of being unwed but as well as a media story. Everything always was. Models, actresses, highly influential socialites surrounded me drinking cocktails and starting up conversations boasting about themselves and others by association. I'm pretty sure I've only spoken the bare minimum of a greeting to them but how is the media to know the difference?

Before the event, Mina had dragged me along to one of her personal makeup artists to transform my party look. I was never one to go out with pin-straight hair and with so much glitter around my eyes that I could see rainbows, but it was a decision I made to perhaps persuade myself to be more confident about myself. It was so different yet so invigorating.

Furthermore, the dress I was wearing was the dress Elias had picked out for me. I remember how his touch made me fizz within an instance. How he gently caressed my back when he helped me. I wonder how his bachelor party was going. No doubt that the presence of women was not obsolete.

I walked up to the bartender with the intent of getting a little kick into my body before I had to fake my way into enjoying the company of people I barely knew. "A martini please." That wasn't going to be enough. "I'll have a shot of vodka as well."

The bartender smiled at me as she took to making my beverage. "I expect that this won't be your first drink tonight."

"I'll see you again in about fifteen minutes," I replied as I took the shot of vodka and carried my glass towards Alice and Mina. The two were chattering as if they had known each other for the longest time. The sight was enlightening.

"There's the future newlywed looking all glammed up and living her best life," Mina excitedly said as she quickly greeted me with a hug.

"You clean up nicely when you aren't in that disgusting excuse of a uniform," Alice teased as she also greeted me with a hug. "Who knew those boobs were hiding behind it."

The place started to thrive as the DJ started playing the hottest hits. Mina and Alice dragged me to the dance floor just before I had started my second drink. My first had seemingly vanished. Guess I hadn't noticed I finished it so quickly.

The beat matched the rhythm of my body grooving to the music. I was feeling myself and was having the time of my life. For the first time in a while. I was genuinely having fun and at a party of all things.

Just to brighten my mood, I went to grab my third drink of the night and there appeared a Penelope Lang. Mina had informed me that her mother had insisted that she be invited. I remember the snarky look she was giving me at the soccer game. How punch-able her face was trying to show her plastered smile.

"Congratulations, Princess Mary," she said, battering her eyelashes. "You look gorgeous tonight."

"Thanks. Penelope, it was, correct?" She nodded her head. I wouldn't have done so normally but my third drink was speaking for itself. "Say, you go to school with Morgan right? Well, he tells me how much of a different person you are in contrast to say, well, here."

Penelope looked nervously down at her drink to avoid my icy glare. "I don't understand," she timidly answered.

"Never mind." The smirk from my face dissipated as I hadn't gotten the answer that would've satisfied me. With a drink in my hand and a partying mood, I set off to find my girls.
