Chapter 22

"welcome back,  dipper"

dipper's pov:

In a matter of seconds the shapeshifter jumped at me and Pacifica.  I felt her tackle me to the side,  both of us narrowly dodging the attack.   we rolled a few feet, landing next to eachother on the ground.  I heard her groan beside me and looked at her,  her forehead must have hit a rock or something because she was bleeding,  holding the wound with her hand.   I sat up,  Ford was now shooting some kind of ray-gun at the shapeshifter as it ran around him,  dodging each blast.   I crawled over to Pacifica and ripped the bottom of my shirt,  tying it around the wound "stay still,  you need help,   im gonna go help Ford"  she nodded too me "be careful"  

I shot up on my feet and grabbed my bat that had falled out of my hand as I rolled.  I ran up behind the shapeshifter and hit it over the head,  I thought it had worked because the creature crumbled to the ground,  but after a second it grew bigger.  it was back into it's true form,  the one that kind of looked like an alien worm.  As it turned towards me I felt a blow to my gut as I flew back into the air,  hitting a wall of the cave back first.  as I slid down the wall I felt myself blacking out,  my last sight was Logan running into the area,  Picking up my bat.

Pacifica's pov((didnt see that comming did you?)): 

I sat up as I saw Dipper fly back into the wall "MASON!"  Ford's voice echoed off the walls and I held my head confused,  why did he call dipper mason?  was that his real name?   I saw Logan charge the monster,  Dipper's bat in hand,  Ford and Logan ran around the monster, trying to find an opening.   I stared at it for a second before I noticed something,   the monster was protecting the two dots on it's forehead,  that must have been it's weakspot.   I looked around me,  what could I use to help?   before I could find anything I heard a scream,  Logan was in the monster's hand,  the fangs of it's mouth sunk into his neck. Logan went limp and the monster tossed him aside.  

I stood up shakily,  I needed to do something,  I saw an old sharp piece of metal sitting on the ground a few feet away "that could work"  I grabbed the metal and ran towards the monster,  who had now cornered Dipper's uncle.  I ran up,  climbed it's back and used all my strength to stab it into the monster's forehead.   It let out a loud squeal and I fell back onto the ground,  Ford ran towards me,  pulling me away from the monster as it began to quickly change forms,  eventually exploding into piles of weird goo.  It was dead.   Ford was breathing hard,  so was I.   I gasped, realizing I was forgetting something "dipper!"  I freed myself from Ford's arms and ran towards him,  he was still out cold.   I felt tears streaming down my face,  he wasn't moving,  It was too dale to see if he was breathing. I couldn't hold my emotions in anymore.  "d-dipper?  please,  wake up"   I shook him a few times "you have to wake up,  we can't stop bill or his daughter without you"  he wasn't waking up, I couldn't breathe between my sobs and talking to him  "please wake up,  we need you,  I-"  I paused,  now was as good as a time as any,  if he wasn't going to wake up,  he had to know.  "I need you,  please wake up"  I waited he didnt move,  I collapsed onto him,  I couldnt stop the tears,  it felt like everything was crashing around me

dipper's pov:

"please,  i,  i have feelings for you,  you can't go now,  not before I could tell you how I feel"  I felt someone crying on my chest,  the voice was familiar.  I opened my eyes a bit to see familiar blonde hair. "pacifica?" my voice was hoarse,  everything hurt.  her head popped up to look at me.  "your ok!"  she tackled me into a hug and I groaned in pain,  she was so happy to see I was alright I couldn't push her away.  "y-yeah im fine,  what happened?"   she got off of me and helped me sit up as she spoke "the monster threw you across the cave and you got knocked out for awhile"  she wiped the tears away from her eyes "I figured out it's weak spot,  it got destroyed, I thought-"  she cut herself off but I knew what she meant,  she didn't think I was going to wake up.  "Im sorry that I scared you Pacifica,  I won't do that again"   she smiled a bit and I slowly stood back up,  my side hurt,  my ribs were probably broken.  "where's Ford and Logan?"  her blue eyes widdened and she turned to where Ford was leaning over something but it was too dark to tell "over there" 

With Pacifica's help I was able to get over towards Ford, when we were a few feet away I spoke "Great uncle Ford,  are you ok?"  he turned to us and stood up "yeah,  im fine,  Pacifica was able to destroy the monster so we wont have to repair the other containers"  his face turned grim "but we have a bit of a problem"  I scrunched my eyebrows together in confusion "what's wrong?"  he sighed and moved to the side,  when he did I finally saw what he had been leaning over.  It was Logan,  he was laying on the ground,  he was awake and holding his neck in pain.  only the weird thing was,  where blood should have been leaking out from the wound in his neck, was something I never expected.

"Is that,  sand?"

hey guys!  so we only have teo more chapters before the end of the first book!  I might write a preview of the next book if people want to see that.  Im still working on the title and the cover for ot but maybe ill show it to you guys when it's finished.  i hope you guys enjoy the rest of this book and the ones to follow!!
