five years later

Chapter 2

dipper's pov:

"We have to go back to gravity falls"

I ran up the stairs and got my and went to get my suitcase and other things, shoving them in as quickly as i could. I couldn't believe that grunkle Stan and Ford had gone missing. Right after the call me and Mabel both ran upstairs. I didn't even bother to shower like I normally would. I was in a panic. I threw a bunch of shirts and shorts and other nessarry clothing into my dark blue suitcase, I packed my laptop, journal, flashlight and some other necessary things I would need into my backpack. I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen to write down a note for our parents telling them that we are going to Gravity Falls, and put it in my pocket. I took one last look around my room and went to my door I paused grabbing the familiar brown fuzzy hat and shoved it on my head, and walked out my bedroom door.

meanwhile, mabel's pov:

After ending the call with Soos I closed my laptop and ran upstairs with it to my room Waddles running right behind me. Dipper had already gone up to his room in a panic I knew he was worried, so was I. I pulled my pink and purple suitcase from underneath my bed and begin to pack clothes I knew I would probably be gone from home for a while, so I needed to be prepared. I couldn't get the thought out of my head and my great uncles or hurt or worse. I could tail Waddles was worried too, he always seems to know what's going on. I couldn't believe we were finally going back to Gravity Falls I missed it so much, and all my friends there. I grabed my backpack from the back of my chair and started to pack things that we would need in it, I also grabbed a bag of Waddles' things and went to my door I was about to work out when I remembered one last thing I went over to my dresser open the top drawer and pulled out my old grappling hook, put it in my backpack and walked out of my room down the stairs.

When i got down there Dipper was already waiting for me, he had Wendy's hat on. He had taped a note to our parents to the mirror right by the front door knowing that that's where they would see it first. I sighed at him while putting waddles' leash on him. "Are you scared as I am?" He sighed " of course I am I don't want you to go back to gravity falls but not like this." He shouldered his bags and everything and looked in my eyes full of determination " ready to go?" I nodded " you bet I am!"

We walked outside with our things to dippers car, locking the door behind us, thankfully it was big enough for both of us all of our stuff and Waddles. We put everything another backseat in the trunk and dipper got in the driver side I got in the passenger side with Waddles in my lap. We took one last look at our old house is Dipper backed out of the driveway.

6 hours later dipper's pov:

It was a tiring car ride, with many stops for food and bathroom breaks, mostly for waddles, but we finally made it to Gravity Falls, we drove past the diner, the police station, Bud's car place and many other buildings. nothing had changed in the town but, I noticed something weird. I was about to speak but Mabel beat me to it "where is everyone?" the streets were almost bare, we didnt see anyone we recognized. something felt really off about it all but we went to the forest, the fimilar road leading to the shack. when we pulled up we noticed the parking lot was empty and the sign on the giftshop door said 'closed' in big red letters. I parked in a random spot, turned off the car, pulling a baseball bat out of the backseat, and getting out. Mabel followed my lead, she got out her grappling hook and together, alo nd with Waddles, went to the front door, we didnt hear anything inside so we decided to bust in the door. When the door opened we were met with confetti and balloons and streamers, a crowd yelled "welcome back!" and Mabel and I stood there stunned, everyone was there, from the gnomes to multibear, pacifica, blubs and derlin. Soos was the first to come forward, he wore a suit and stans old fez that looked faded. "dudes! you finally made it!" Mabel and I dropped our stuff and hugged him, talking at the same time "Soos!" we hugged for what seemed like forever before melody pulled Soos away giving both of us hugs, i was sad i missed their wedding but it was nice finally seeing them both again. stanley jr ran up to Mabel's arms and she gave him a spinning hug, they were both laughing when i felt a tap on my shoulder, id know that blonde hair anywhere "pacifica, hey" she smiled at me warmly "hey dork, glad your back, its been really dull with out you" we hugged cor a few seconds until we heard loud squeals, i turned just in time to see my sister being tackled by her best friends Candy and Grenda. they soon started crying happily before someone cleared their throat and i felt my hat get taken off my head, only to be replaced with a smaller one that was much colder.

I turned around and time stopped. I stared at the red headed girl infront of me. her brown eyes shining happily at me, i had grown slightly taller than her but she looked at me as if no time had passed, I pulled her into a hug, not wanting this one moment to end.

"hey Wendy, long time no see"
